CAFCASS Child Contact Interventions - Observation of Contact Sustaining Contact Working in Partnership Child Contact Interventions (CCI) Observation of Contact - Sustaining Contact Notes 1. Sustaining contact is an interim contact intervention designed specifically to allow established contact to be sustained in a safe and planned manor for an interim period. The assistance offered is to build upon and sustain a positive relationship while other work is undertaken. This could involve shorter contacts, at lower frequency over a longer period of time. 2. Observations need to take account of all the information available and record exceptional circumstances where a parent fails to meet the needs of the child and or where the parent puts the child at risk of harm. 3. It may not be possible to make comments in all the boxes. 4. Please write as objectively as possible with a view to this record being shared with service users. 5.
