欢迎第一单元 自我介绍 Self-Introduction Assignment In Chinese, create a dialogue between two people in which they meet and introduce themselves to each other. Your dialogue can take whatever form you choose. Some possible options include: A comic strip A PowerPoint presentation (print it out, and write the dialogue by hand) A play (stage directions may be in English) A short film Each person in the dialogue must provide the following information about himself or herself: Surname Given name Whether he or she studies (or teaches) Chinese Where he or she lives His or her cell phone number His or her email address Your dialogue must include: One person asking the other how he or she is One person asking the other whether he or she knows someone else (using 认识) A statement or question using 知道 Questions using the following: o 呢 o 吗 o 哪儿 o 什么 o 多少 The people saying goodbye to each other You should be able to complete this assignment using only the vocabulary that we have learned so far in class. The assignment is due at the start of class on Thursday, January 24. This assignment will count as a test grade. Grading Below is the rubric I will use to grade your assignment. Completeness 10 points 10: The assignment is complete and on time. 8: The assignment is complete but late, or mostly complete. 6: The assignment is mostly complete and late. 4: The assignment is not very complete or more than three days late. 2: The assignment is not complete or more than one week late. 8: The student put good effort into the assignment. 6: The student tried, but not very hard. 4: The work shows a lack of effort. 2: The student clearly put very little effort into the work. 8: The assignment contains some minor mistakes. 6: The assignment contains a couple of major mistakes or many minor mistakes. 4: There are enough mistakes that some meaning is lost. 2: Mistakes in grammar and/or usage make the project difficult to understand. 8: The student did not use a lot of vocabulary, and/or there are some minor mistakes. 6: The vocabulary used is limited, and/or there are a couple of major mistakes or many minor mistakes. 4: The project is missing enough vocabulary or has enough mistakes that some meaning is lost. 2: Vocabulary mistakes make the project difficult to understand. 8: The project is detailed and creative. 6: The project contains some creative elements. 4: The student stuck to generic ways of doing things. 2: The project contains no evidence of creative effort. 6: The student wrote sloppily, or the characters contain a couple of major mistakes or many minor mistakes. 4: The characters are either sloppy enough or have enough mistakes that some meaning is lost. 2: The characters are either sloppy enough or contain enough mistakes that the project is difficult to understand 4: The student rarely uses tones, and/or consistently mispronounces words. 2: The student does not use tones, or errors in pronunciation make the project difficult to understand. Effort 10 points 10: It is clear that the student put a lot of effort into the assignment. Grammar 10 points 10: Grammar is used correctly overall. Vocabulary 10 points 10: The vocabulary used is varied, and all vocabulary is used correctly. Creativity 10 points 10: The student took creative risks and made something unique. Characters (in a written project) 10 points 10: The characters are all neatly and correctly written. 8: The characters contain some minor mistakes. Pronunciation (in an oral project) 10 points 10: The student uses tones well, and pronounces words correctly overall. 8: The student’s pronunciation contains some minor mistakes. 6: The student’s pronunciation contains many minor mistakes.
