Departmental Notification to Student about Reinstatement in Course In accordance with Section C.I.(a) 12 of the University’s Code of Behaviour on Academic Matters, students are not permitted to withdraw from a course while an allegation of academic misconduct is under investigation. This rule is intended to prevent students from avoiding the consequences of their actions by dropping the course. If you realize that a student has withdrawn from the course at any point after the alleged offence has occurred, your department administrator should contact ruth.foulds@utoronto.ca at the Office of the Faculty Registrar with a request for reinstatement. You should also notify the student that this has been done by using one of the following templates. Prior to Instructor Meeting: Email from Instructor Dear [STUDENT] , As you know, there are some concerns with [BRIEF_DESCRIPTION] and I have written to you previously to provide you with an opportunity to discuss these concerns. I notice that you have now withdrawn from the course. If the allegation is dismissed at any point, you will be allowed to withdraw from the course without penalty if you still wish to do so.
