George Buzzell Scholarship
(a) Review eligibility requirements
(b) Review application for scholarship
(c) Determine how to distribute scholarship applications to high schools –
making sure guidance counselor is aware of the scholarship - ASAP
(d) Determine date the scholarship applications are due.
(e) Date to review 2015 applications and rating criteria to be considered.
(f) Confirm 2014 scholarship recipients, review, and approve checks to be
written and sent.
(g) Scholarship fund balance.
(h) Future fundraising.


WMA’s (Jared Nunnery)- apple tree release- with Lou Bushy and Cedric Alexander
Introductions: my background
Eileen- program flexibility as the advisory board advises and the community finds needs (jobs)
Bob Lewis relating about major improvements in career center under Eileen’s directorship
Jacque raises Q about student interest and how that drives the program’s directions
Eileen responds- need to look at local economy and train for jobs that exist among other factors
Can’t always base a program on student interest for various reasons discussed
Impossible to cover” everything” in FAWR- not enough time/ expertise varies…

Bob- we need to “blow our own horn”… ideas presented include:
Scott Wheeler’s radio program? 6:30 Sunday morning… though (Jack was on last week)…
TV Station
Jared says Northern Woodlands would love the story of the Thoreau cabin…
Colleen says a perfect fit for” outstanding use of wood” award (Northern Logger)

purposes


George Buzzell scholarship- much discussion which led to (among other things) the recognition that the
George Buzzell Scholarship Committee is a separate entity from the Program Advisory Board. Thus, PAB
meeting adjourned and GBSC started with minutes recorded separately.
