Light work requires walking or standing to a significant degree and pushing and/or pulling. 1. Range 1 The Specialist, Football Recruiting Operations, is responsible for handling all aspects of social media for recruiting and assists with football operations within the Nevada Football Program at the University of Nevada, Reno. The position assists with recruit analysis, video editing of game highlights for social media recruiting, assist in the organization of official and non-official recruit visits, assists in the management of the recruit database and board. The position also assists in the general football operations, including helping to organize team travel, organization and implementation logistics for fall camp, game-day logistics, and assisting with player housing and meal logistics. The position reports to the Head Coach, Football. Range 2 The Director, Football and Recruiting Operations, manages all areas of recruiting and oversees all administrative recruiting duties within the Intercollegiate Athletics Department (ICA) at the University of Nevada, Reno. The position coordinates all on-campus recruiting functions for potential football student-athletes and responds to all public inquires and questions about Nevada football recruiting. The individual works with the football staff on all matters in regards to on-campus recruiting. The position coordinates football summer camps and clinics and acts as the liaison for the NFL pro day, football alumni, strength and conditioning staff, university facilities, and department sports information office. Range 1 70% - Recruiting Activities In conjunction with Head Coach, coordinate football recruitment strategies Coordinate records of all recruits and prospective recruits, manage database Conduct research regarding recruit activities to maintain accurate and current information regarding recruit statistics Inform coaches of recruit activities prior to coach site-visits with recruits, develop talking points for coaches which demonstrate knowledge in recruit interests Produce reports of football recruitment activities upon request Organization of official and unofficial recruit visits, provide tours, liaise with departments on campus such as Admissions and Records on behalf of or with the recruit Coordinate logistics for the 85 scholarship limit model Coordinate logistics of high school and youth football camps Management all social media for player recruiting Weekly video/graphic editing and creation for posting highlight clips/graphics to social media Ensure NCAA compliance in recruitment activities 30% - Football Operations Coordinate logistics of team travel Organization and implementation logistics of Nevada Football fall camp Coordinate logistics of student housing and meal plans for players Ensure compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference, and university rules and regulations (subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures) General operations as assigned Attend games as directed by the Coach Range 2 – in addition to Range 1 duties above 60% - Recruiting Activities Oversees all inquiries and correspondence with recruits Manages recruitment tape program including tape analysis (break down), evaluation and coordination with position coaches Coordinates the travel and itineraries for on-campus recruiting visits Oversees and monitors the football team’s recruiting budget Serves as liaison to the Compliance Office on all recruiting matters Ensures compliance with National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), Conference, and university rules and regulations (subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures) 30% - Program Support Coordinates the football team’s life-skills program Coordinates the logistics for Summer camps, staff visits and clinics 2 Football and Recruiting Operations Serves as the liaison with National Football League (NFL) scouts and Pro Day Serves as the liaison with football alumni Serves as the liaison with university facilities on all football issues Serves as the liaison with department’s sports information office on all football issues Participates in community activities and public relations, camps, etc. When practical, intercollegiate athletics staff is encouraged to voluntarily attend all athletic events to promote audience participation and support for the University’s team efforts 10% - Student-Athlete Support Assists players with finding summer jobs Works with the Academic staff and Director of Football Operations in monitoring studentathlete class checks Work with all new football student-athletes on all issues pertaining to incoming students with NCAA clearinghouse, dorms, applications, etc 3. Range 1 Athletics is one of the most publicly visible programs on campus to the public, potential donors, and donors. The Specialist, will have creative freedom with all aspects of social media recruiting. The incumbent determines appropriate methods, priorities, and resources required when receiving an assignment and has significant autonomy to attain key goals with respect to social recruiting efforts. Position will need to be aware that all postings are compliant with the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) rules and regulations for recruiting practices. Range 2 The Director works independently with little direct supervision and with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment. The incumbent determines appropriate methods, priorities, and resources required when receiving an assignment and has significant autonomy to attain key goals related to team performance. 4. Range 1 The position reports to Head Football coach regarding the social media posting of weekly player awards and any use of the Head Football Coach’s name. Failure to follow NCAA guidelines regarding recruitment policies could result in loss of scholarships, vacating wins, or other penalties/sanctions against the Nevada Football Program. Range 2 The position consults with the supervisor and management on long-term goals for the unit 3 Football and Recruiting Operations 5.
