AGRITAS Agritas Agritas Trade College Pty Ltd is a new venture here in Smithton located in the heart of dairy production for Tasmania that has been established by the community to successfully prepare students for careers in agriculture. This purpose built facility at 12 Nelson Street, Smithton will be a center of excellence for agriculture and dairy. The vision is to provide students with a learning experience to equip them with the skills and knowledge to build a successful career in the agricultural sector. To complete the learning experience, local farms will provide field days and workshops to add further context to our student’s experience. Agriculture provides students with a wide range of career opportunities in this multimillion dollar industry sector here in Tasmania. The Agritas mission is to add significant value to the industry in terms of skills and knowledge that will allow people to pursue an active career in the industry. Agritas is governed by a Trust Board of Directors and holds charitable trust status under a Trust Deed. The future vision for Agritas shared by the board and the management team is one of adding value to the agriculture and the wider industry sector here in Circular Head and the wider community. Agritas Foundation The Agritas Foundation is the fundraising arm of Agritas Trade College. It exists to support the vision and mission of the Agritas Board by working with partners to accept, acknowledge, manage and allocate gifts. The Agritas Foundation commences in June 2013 and is seeking Inaugural Foundation partners, ready for the commencement of Agritas Trade College courses in the coming Financial Year. The Agritas Foundation is seeking partnership funding for a range of activities, including student scholarships, research, and facilities such as business incubation and business opportunities that support Agritas. The Agritas Foundation will become an incorporated association and will be governed by a board of directors, separate to the Agritas Trade College Board. Agritas Foundations members that take a Platinum or Gold Sponsorship package will be entitled to become members of the Agritas Foundation and elect one of the Foundation Board members. Through partnerships, the Agritas Foundation hopes to provide opportunities to benefit the community in the following ways: Scholarships – to benefit those facing challenging circumstances, farm apprentices, farm managers and research students Agricultural Service Business Incubation – to assist and enable new agribusiness start-ups Research & Development Development and deployment of new and emerging Technologies Our partnership opportunities are designed to provide for long term relationships and we believe that in this way both our community and industry as well as our partner businesses will benefit well into the future. $100,000 and over, and $35,000 per year thereafter Donor Benefits 1.
