Whether you were practically born with webbed feet or you prefer to simply lounge poolside, these eight great resort pools are the perfect place to take your last dip of the season. Surf & Sand Resort– Laguna Beach, CA Surf & Sand Resort is one of only five oceanfront properties in California and the pool deck sits atop a cliff that provides panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean below. The inviting chaise lounges, soothing sounds of the waves, faint smell of sea salt and the warming sun will coax you into a state of poolside relaxation. Evian Royal Resort — Evian, France It’s no great surprise that a resort known for its famous water would also boast fabulous swimming facilities. One of our favorite pools of all time, the infinity pool at the Evian Royal overlooks Lake Geneva. Swim at sunset for spectacular views of the lake and Switzerland — whose border can be found on the lake’s other shore. Casta Diva Resort — Lake Como, Italy It’s a pool inside a lake at the posh Casta Diva Resort, the former home of composer Bellini’s muse and lover, Guiditta Pasta. The luxury resort offers a floating dock that doubles as a pool — plunked right into the middle of Lake Como. And yes, you just might see George Clooney. His home is just across the lake. Capella Pedregal — Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Offering sweeping views of where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, Capella Pedregal’s main infinity pool is one of many on property. Each suite offers a private plunge pool. Sugar Ridge Resort — Antigua One of our favorite parts of this Antiguan gem set high into the hills is the private pool that sits near its fine dining restaurant, Carmichael’s. The perfect spot to gaze out over crystal clear waters and watch the sunset (fruity drink in hand), the pool at Sugar Ridge Resort is surrounded by lush tropical blossoms. Washington School House — Park City, UT The exclusive Park City boutique hotel has just recently opened in December 2011 with twelve spectacular suites, a historic living space with 16ft ceilings, a roaring fire, chic ski lounge and a new heated pool terraced in the hillside overlooking the beautiful Wasatch mountains range and Park City’s downtown. For added enjoyment of the natural surroundings, the privately situated heated outdoor lap pool is perfect for post-ski relaxation or summer swims. Stargazing is unavoidable. Paresa Resort — Phuket, Thailand Hidden in the cliffs amongst a lush tropical landscape Paresa Resort in Phuket, Thailand boasts breathtaking views of the Andaman sea. The aqua pool suites, dima spa suites, cliff pool villas and cielo residences all provide private infinity pools that look out onto the sparkling water and the talay suites are steps away from the joint access luxurious overflowing infinity pool. Guests can enjoy massages by their private infinity pool and enjoy dinner on the lounges in the private pool gazing at the starts of the clear Phuket sky. —McLean Robbins for Luxury Travel Mavens
