AzPA Student Scholarship Program 2015 Arizona Psychological Association Convention October 16 & 17, 2015 – Carefree Resort and Conference Center, Carefree, AZ The Arizona Psychological Association (AzPA) awards student scholarships to cover the cost of registration to its annual convention as part of the organization’s continuing efforts to support the personal and professional development of students and to reward excellence in scholarship and dedication to the field of psychology. Awards are not guaranteed. Applications are evaluated and awarded based on AzPA student membership and scholarship sponsor availability. We appreciate your interest in AzPA and look forward to seeing you at our 2015 convention! Terms of the Award: 1. Applications are accepted only from regularly admitted students currently enrolled in a psychology related program. Scholarships are not available for post-docs. 2. Recipients must be student members of AzPA 3. Recipients must have attended at least three AzPA or AzPA affiliate psychological society events in the past year. A. AzPA sponsored events include, but are not limited to the following: 1. AzPA Committee Meetings 2. Student Affairs Committee Events (Ask your student representative for more info.) 3. CE presentations hosted by an AzPA committee B. AzPA affiliate psychological societies include, but are not limited to the following: 1. American Psychological Association (APA) 2. Arizona Neuropsychological Society (AzNS) 3. Children’s Services Network (CSN) 4. East Valley Psychological Society 5. Granite Mountain Psychological Society (GMPS) 6. Northern Arizona Psychological Society (NAPS) 7. Scottsdale Psychological Society (SPS) 4. Recipients of a 2-day scholarship must attend both days of the convention. 1-day scholarship requests are also accepted. 5. Recipients expected to attend the convention luncheon, cocktail hour, the student poster session, and student panel if those activities occur on the date of their awarded scholarship. 6. Students selected to present at the AzPA Student Poster Session for the 2015 Convention will also be considered eligible for a 1-day scholarship on the day of their presentation. Once chosen, those select students must complete and submit a scholarship application in order to receive a scholarship. These students will be held to the same scholarship requirements as other AzPA 2013 Student Scholarship Program Page 1 of 4 AzPA Student Scholarship Program applicants. The Student Scholarship consists of payment, by a mentoring AzPA psychologist, of the student’s full registration fees for the 2015 AzPA convention. The scholarship covers the cost of all scheduled activities and convention luncheons. 8. Our scholarship program is generated by psychologists who want to provide educational opportunities for students by donating funds to make convention attendance possible for many of our student members. In recognition of their generosity, we ask all scholarship recipients to contact their sponsor psychologist as a gesture of gratitude. In an attempt to promote professionalism, AzPA is asking students to make contact with the sponsor psychologist on or before October 5, 2015 in order for the scholarship to be awarded.
