Request for Work Placement as part of the Certificate III in Fitness (SIS30310)
Dear [Insert Contact Name],
I am writing to introduce myself to you and to seek the opportunity to undertake a Work Placement with [Insert Host Organisation] as part of the Certificate III in Fitness that I am currently completing with the Open College of Fitness. The Open College of Fitness is part of Open Colleges – one of
Australia’s largest and oldest providers of distance learning in Australia (see www.opencolleges.edu.au for more information).
A key element of the nationally recognised Certificate III in Fitness is the development of skills in a workplace environment. To achieve this, I am required to undertake a compulsory Work Placement as part of my course. The Work Placement involves at least 80 hours of work experience covering, amongst others, the following areas:
SISFFIT301A Provide fitness orientation and health
SISFFIT307A Undertake client health assessment
SISFFIT304A Instruct and monitor fitness programs
SISFFIT308A Plan and deliver gym programs
Open Colleges has designed the Work Placement to be highly flexible. Ideally, the Work
Placement should be completed in as a full-time block. Open Colleges is responsible for completing all assessment activities through a Workplace Assessor. [Insert The Host Organisation] is only required to provide a Workplace Supervisor who will provide guidance and support in the workplace and access to the facilities, equipment and resources to complete the key tasks outlined above.
Open Colleges has a detailed Workplace Assessment Guide that provides detailed advice for the
Workplace Supervisor. An Open Colleges Workplace Assessor is also available to provide an overview of the Workplace Assessment and Work Placement process.
I am passionate about working in [Insert areas] and hope that you will give me an opportunity to enhance my skills in this important area. I have attached a copy of my resume and academic transcript for your reference. Should you require any further information please feel free to contact me on the telephone numbers below.
