DISPOSAL OF AEROSOL CANS
Starting immediately all aerosol cans that are no longer of use to you (empty or full) are to be treated as
chemical/hazardous waste. They are to be included in the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) waste pickup
system.




Do NOT puncture the can. Leave the cap and spray nozzle on or the spray nozzle can be removed by
pulling it away from the can.
They should be placed in a plastic bag and labeled with a chemical waste tag.
They should NOT be put into the lab solid waste containers
Empty or full they are NOT to be put into the general waste baskets
