LA PLATA RELAY FOR LIFE 2013 Day of Event Entertainment & Activity Descriptions __________________________________________ 6:00-6:30 OPENING CEREMONY & SURVIVOR LAP 6:30-6:45 TEAM PARADE --- Teams will be judged via voting box; hopefully based on overall team concept & spirit... 6:45-7PM GREAT ‘PUSH, PULL, OR PEDAL’ RACE --- This event is to encourage participation by the younger generation. --- Similar to a ‘Land Run’ --- The first competitor to complete one lap via any form of transportation with 3 wheels or more (bicycle w/training wheels, tricycle, pull a wagon, etc) will win. --- All participants (including their supporting staff) will receive 100 relay bucks. --- The Winner receives an age appropriate donated prize. 7PM-4AM LOCK-BOX CHALLENGE --- Each team will be issued a box(of some sort) which contains 5 ‘bars of gold’ (wood blocks painted GOLD, with the team’s name on the bottom side). --- Throughout the night, it will be each team’s responsibility to ‘PROTECT’ their ‘gold’. --- The team objective will be to steal as much of the other teams ‘gold bars’ as possible. --- At 4AM, each team will turn in their lockbox of treasure. --- Each team will receive 100 pts for each bar of gold still in their lockbox 7PM-4AM SILENT AUCTION --- All silent auction items will be on display and ready for bidding from 7PM-4AM. --- Auction will close at 4AM. --- All Items will need to be picked up and paid for by 5AM. --- Any items remaining will be taken back to the ACS office. 7-7:15PM BARN RAISING (Human Pyramid) --- The team that makes a human pyramid (& holds for at least 5 seconds) within the 15 minutes, using the highest number of team participants WINS. --- All participants will receive 100 relay bucks, and the winning team receives 200 team points. 7:15-7:30 DANCE AND/OR PERFORMING GROUP (OK CORRAL) 7:30-9pm LIVE MUSIC BY THE HIGH ROLLERS (MAIN STAGE) 9-9:15PM SAVE A HORSE... RIDE A COWBOY --- The couple that successfully completes a lap riding ‘piggy-back’ around the entire track WINS. --- Must keep the same partner for the entire lap. --- You can switch on who is the ‘rider’. --- All participants will receive 100 relay bucks, and the winners (2) will receive donated prizes. 9:15-9:30PM GUNFIGHT AT THE OK CORRAL (Provided by the Strater Hotel performing group) 9:30-10PM LUMINARIA CEREMONY 10-10:15PM 3-LEGGED RACE ----- The first team competitors to complete one lap will win. --- All participants will receive 100 relay bucks. --- The Winners receive donated prizes. 10:15-10:30PM DANCE AND/OR PERFORMING GROUP 10:30PM-12:30AM LIVE MUSIC BY THE HIGH ROLLERS (MAIN STAGE) PAJAMA JAMBOREE (Pajama Party & Campfire with Shmores)--- Any person wearing what can be visibly determined to be pajamas will earn 100 relay bucks. --- We will also be having a simulated ‘campfire’ in the center of the activity corral for roasting marshmallows for ‘shmores’! 12:30-1AM FIGHT BACK CEREMONY 1-1:30AM SCAVENGER HUNT --- Each team will be given a list of scavenger hunt items.. The first team to turn in all items to the Fight Back Tent attendee will receive 100 relay bucks for participation & 200 points for the winning team. 1:30-2AM COW ‘POKE’ CONTEST --- We will have 6 Cows designated by costume; these cow participants will be staples for all other participants. --- Using a plunger, the participants will have to run to the cow of their choice, stab a roll of toilet paper that the cow’s holding between their legs, and then run that roll of toilet paper back to their individual pile. --- The participant to collect the most rolls of toilet paper over a designated period WINS. --- All participants (plus the cows), will receive 100 relay bucks, and the winner will receive a donated prize. 1:30-2:30AM DISCO DO IT --- An hour of all disco music; All participants receive 100 relay bucks for a minimum # of 5 laps completed during this period; We will be using beads, bracelets, etc. to keep track of the #of laps. 2-2:30AM TEXAS TORNADO --- Commonly known as Twister, we are going to have a giant game set up in the middle of OK Corral! 2:30-4AM KARAOKE SKIT CONTEST --- Each team is encouraged to prepare a particular song or series of songs for this contest. After choosing your particular song, please arrange with the Karaoke DJ Crazy Charlie from the Wild Horse Saloon, that he has your song on file. He does Karaoke every Wednesday at the Wild Horse Saloon if you’d like to practice your song before the event. --- Only 1 entry allowed per team, to allow enough time for everyone to participate. --- After all team entries have performed, then Karaoke will be open to everyone. --- Event will be judged by audience participation... --- 100 relay bucks for participation (every song performed), and the Winning team receives 1000 team points 4:00-5:00AM LINE DANCE HOUR An hour of line dancing mixed with your DJ requests; All participants receive 100 relay bucks for a minimum # of 5 laps during this period; We will be using beads, bracelets, etc. to keep track of the #of laps (make different from what was used during DISCO DO IT)!
