CODE BROWN: MIT PROCEDURE YOU REPORT TO: Chief MIT INITIAL Receive notification of Code Brown via pager 4443 AFTER HOURS ONLY: Call on-call Radiologist or MID Director Contact Chief MIT (or deputy) AFTER HOURS ONLY: Start calling general MITs If instruced by Chief MIT: •Call Clerical manager •Call on call ICT person Get equipment ready •1 mobile in main dept •1 mobile in ICU •warm up CT Print off incident log • keep track of staff/patients then hand over to Chief MIT ONGOING Keep Chief MIT appraised of capacity constraints and critical delays Participate in the evaluation of the incident response that will be arranged once the emergency situation has resolved Stand down: Once the decision has been made to end the response, wind down and facilitate smooth transition to recovery phase or to normal routines Collate and save all incident records to be forwarded to the Medical Imaging Team Leader Collect reports from staff of any issues that arose during incident response prior to handover to Chief MIT or delegate Assist in preparation of report for operational debrief meeting prior to handover to CMIT or delegate If required, attend operational debrief CODE BROWN: MID DIRECTOR (or deputy) YOU REPORT TO: Operations Leader INITIAL Receive notification of Code Brown from Operations Lead AFTER HOURS ONLY: Receive call from duty MIT Call in: •Consultants •Fellows •NUM (as req'd) •NM physician (as req'd) Get briefing from Operations Lead Liaise with the ED Medical Team Leader, Operating Suite and PICU Liaise with Chief MIT regarding staff distribution and equipment availability Print off incident log • document all decisions & actions ONGOING Provide rapid interpretation of radiological investigations as requested by ED, Trauma, Surgical and Orthopaedic Services Assess resource and staffing requirements on an on-going basis Document actions and decisions on a continual basis ??
