BC Lung Association Respiratory Rehabilitation Scholarship for
Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellows
An award of up to $25,000 per annum will be provided to post-doctoral fellow or doctoral students.
Opportunities to do research related to respiratory rehabilitation at the University of British Columbia
include:
 outcomes in pulmonary rehabilitation such as pulmonary and respiratory muscle function,
exercise capacity, cardiac risk factors, health care utilization, and health-related quality of life;
 interventions in pulmonary rehabilitation including whole body exercise, respiratory muscle
training, and patient education;
 training, testing, fatigue or injury of the inspiratory muscles;
 knowledge translation related to cardiorespiratory care.
Preference will be given to applicants with:
 high academic qualifications;
 previous clinical and/or research experience related to respiratory rehabilitation;
 physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or related degree;
 work experience supervised by the Faculty in the Department of Physical Therapy or the
Department of Occupational Science and Occupation Therapy at the University of British
Columbia.
Application Deadlines:
Apr 1st, 2014 to start in July to Sept 1 for post-doctoral fellows.
PhD applicants must also apply for admission to the UBC Faculty of Graduate Studies. Application dates
to PhD programs are much earlier depending on the specific program and supervisor. For more
