The website provides Maths learning videos, exercises, hints and tips in a wide variety of mathematics topics to assist the needs of students at 4th to 6th class levels. Web-based resources (such as videos) on a particular topic can be used in class or as homework. This resource has the potential to allow teachers to focus more on student learning and activity and less on teaching in the traditional sense. Students can also use the site in their own time, as the website sets challenges for them suitable to their ability level. This allows students to learn at their own pace and in their own time. This course will introduce teachers to the Khan Academy website. Participants will be shown how Khan Academy can be used by children to improve maths skills while working at their own pace. The course will focus on registering students, assigning learning tasks and monitoring student progress. The benefits of using Khan Academy in the classroom and at home will be explored.
