Summarized below are updates for your review to assist with moving forward with your education:
Teach-Out or Transfer Agreement
Anthem has a formal agreement with Carrington College to honor the cost of your tuition. This option is
available for you to complete your education at the Lloyd Center location. Please refer to the enclosure
to review the terms of this agreement. If you decide to pursue this option you can call 503-761-6100 to
schedule an appointment.
Many of you have met with other schools in the area to discuss potentially completing your
education. All other schools outside of Carrington College are evaluating your coursework and
determining what courses will transfer in to their respective programs.
Transcripts
A transcript will be necessary for the receiving school to make determinations on your schedule in these
instances. Please review the Transcript Request form to make this request. Transcripts were provided
to students at the September 19th Informational Workshops. All transcripts not picked up at the time of
the workshop have been mailed to your home addresses for all active students at the time of the
campus closure. Students will be charged $12 per transcript for additional transcript.

Return to Title IV Calculations
All Title IV calculations should be completed (along with applicable refunds) by October 15th, 2014.
After the Title IV calculations have been made, Title IV adjustments will be viewable via the National
Student Loan Database system.


Once adjustments are made, adjustments may be available for Non-Title IV aid (private
loans) based on your tuition adjustments.
Upon receipt of your Title IV calculations, questions relating to your charges and financial aid

Loan Discharge

Due to the circumstances of the school closure, you may be eligible for a student loan
discharge. I have listed the contact information and also the web page for your review if choose
to explore this option.

o Additionally, you can call 415-486-5677 for further questions/clarifications
o You can access your loan servicer via the National Student Loan Database System, as
well.
Once you have processed your federal loan discharge and have received a determination,
students could use that information to support your efforts to request a private loan discharge.
Oregon Tuition Protection Fund
o
Additionally, there is a Private Career School Tuition Protection Fund set up for
situations such as these that protects students after calculations have been finalized.
This fund assists and accounts for non-Title IV, Private Loans and additional Cash
Payments. To request reimbursement from the Tuition Protection Fund, please refer to
the enclosed Tuition Protection Fund form. You will need to provide
documentation/proof of payment along with the accompanying form and mail this into
the address at the top of the first page. Title IV calculations and Charges must be
determined prior to reviewing this option.
