Greek Mythology Research Assignment
Directions: Everyone in the class has been assigned a different character: god, goddess, or demi-god from
Greek Mythology. You must research them and make a three-minute presentation based upon the
mythological character that you have selected. Presentations must have a visual component. It can be a
Power Point, Prezi Presentation, or a Poster-board (not a tri-board) with typed information on it. You
cannot read from index cards during your presentation.
You must answer the following questions during your presentation:

If you have selected a god/goddess or demi-god, please indicate what he/she are the god or
goddess of and what special powers he/she possess. If you have selected a creature, you must
find out the story behind it. Why are they important? What is unique about them?
o
Create a family tree. Who are his/her parents, siblings, and children? If it is a creature, who takes
care of it? How was it created?
o
Sum up the story and share with the class. This can be done with a bulleted list or in a paragraph.
Make sure you know the story and aren’t just reading it to the class. You may need to read a few
different versions of it to find the best one to share. Many characters are in multiple stories. Pick
the one you like best. Do not plagiarize.
