(Deadline November 28, 2015) Overview The Miss Parsons Princess Mentoring Program is designed to benefit young ladies 5 to 12 years of age. This allows these young women to benefit from and be involved with the Miss Parsons Organization/Miss America Organization. Each young lady will participate in mini-workshops taught by experienced professionals. Each session is a positive, fun experience for each Princess. This is not a competition. The workshops will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 2:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Decatur County Middle School (2740 Hwy 641 S, Parsons, TN). Each young lady will be crowned a Miss Parsons Princess during a Coronation Ceremony at the Decatur County Middle School during the 2015 Miss Parsons – Miss Decatur County Pageant on December 5, 2015 beginning at 7:00 pm. Also at this event, the Princess Class will participate in a group production number and then be individually introduced and featured during the Evening Gown portion of the pageant. What does my child wear for the workshops and Coronation event? Workshops: Casual, cute & comfortable. Keep in mind that a professional photographer will be taking individual photos during the Photography session. Group Production Number: Blue jeans and t-shirt. We will provide the t-shirt at workshop. Coronation Dress & Evening Gown Competition: A simple white or ivory dress is needed for the Coronation and Evening Gown Competition. Any style white dress that you currently have will work. What happens at the Coronation Event and the Pageant? We want each Princess to have the on-stage experience of a big pageant production without the competition. The Princess Class will be involved in several phases of the Miss Parsons Pageant. Group Production Number (simple dance number) Coronation Introduction (each princess will be introduced and will walk on stage as information is read about her) Coronation (each princess will be crowned by Miss Tennessee on stage) Evening Gown Competition (Princess will be paired with a Teen/Miss contestant and will walk out with the contestant during the competition to present a flower) Where do I get tickets to the Coronation Event and Pageant? Tickets are $10 and are available at the Decatur County Middle School one hour before the show. Each princess and one guest will be admitted at no charge. Who will serve as the Staff and Chaperones? Can I attend the workshops? Experienced professionals will lead each of the workshop sessions. Ladies from the Miss Parsons Scholarship Organization will serve as chaperones and hostesses for the Princess Class. Moms or Dads are welcome to attend each workshop. Special areas will be provided for the parents to observe. Where will they dress? We ask that you bring your Princess already dressed in her Group Production number outfit and as close to ready as possible. There will be a private backstage room provided for the Princess Class to change & touch up hair and makeup. Moms are welcome to assist their Princesses backstage. Who benefits from the funds raised? All proceeds benefit the Miss Parsons Scholarship Organization, an all-volunteer, not-for-profit group that provides scholarships to contestants. 100% of the proceeds benefit the scholarship fund. What do we receive?
