Job Description
Job Title:
University Tennis Coordinator
Responsible To:
Development Officer, University of Warwick Indoor Tennis Centre
Responsible For:
Increasing the provision of tennis activities on the University
Campus for students and other Centre users under the management
of the Development Officer
Job Purpose:
The University Tennis Coordinator will work with the Development
Officer on the delivery of a year round programme working closely
with the inspire2coach team. This person will support the
Development Officer in developing coaching, competition, club and
university teams and court usage.
The post will be for approximately 16 hours per week and will
include organising and developing opportunities for students. It will
also include coaching, refereeing and being involved with
inspire2coach programmes in Coventry.
Main Duties





To increase participation levels of students at the University of Warwick through setting up
and implementing student sessions, taster sessions and competition
To develop competitive opportunities for all levels of players
To encourage tennis volunteers to become involved in the programmes at the Centre and
other venues in the City
To coach appropriate groups at the Tennis Centre as part of the coaching team, especially at
weekends and with particular emphasis on students
To promote tennis on the campus and at the nearby venues

Personal Attributes




The successful applicant will have a confirmed place on a part time post graduate degree at
the University of Warwick
The successful applicant will have an understanding of tennis programmes and will be
required to attend a number of induction training days at the LTA National Training Centre
in London
The successful applicant will have a recognised tennis coaching qualification and tennis
coaching experience.
The successful applicant will have a flexible approach to work, being able to work during
weekends and holidays. The successful applicant will also have good oral and written
communication skills, be able to work in a busy team and be motivated and enthusiastic
