Doctors Bio’s
Dr Sarah Morrison
MBBS(Hons), FRACS Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery
Dr Sarah Morrison is a tertiary qualified paediatric Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon. She undertook all
of her training in Victoria and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
After qualifying to become an ENT Surgeon, Sarah undertook further study in paediatric ENT as an
ENT fellow at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Melbourne. Now, Sarah is a consultant at RCH
within the ENT unit. She has also spent time observing practices within other paediatric ENT units
internationally.
Her particular interests are children, however, she enjoys treating all aspects of Ear Nose and
Throats (including adults). Currently Sarah divides her time between work at RCH public, ENT at the
Kids, and bringing up her own children.

Paediatric ENT Surgery, General Adult ENT Surgery, Functional Rhinology, Sleep and Snoring Surgery.
Background
Dr Ryan completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Adelaide and
subsequently trained in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery in London and Melbourne.
She obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2007. Dr Ryan went on
to undertake further subspecialty training in Paediatric Ear Nose and Throat Surgery in Auckland
New Zealand.
Dr Ryan is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a Member of the Australian
Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Ltd (ASOHNS) and the Australian and New Zealand
Society of Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology (ANZSPO).
Dr Ryan maintains her ongoing Continuing Professional Development through regular attendance at
Conferences and Courses around the world. She sits on Hospital Committees and is closely involved
in the ongoing education of medical students, residents, ENT Trainees and other medical colleagues.
Principles and Practice
Dr Caroline Ryan strives to treat all patients equally, fairly and with excellent quality of care. She is
sensitive to the needs of families, workers, and individual groups in society. Dr Ryan is a strong
advocate for a team approach to medical care.
Appointments for consultation and operation are available outside normal business hours to provide
maximum ease of access. Onsite audiology is also provided at her Parkville and Bundoora sites in
order to streamline the patient experience.
Dr Ryan encourages patients to contact her excellent and highly competent Office staff for any
enquiries and is always available to colleagues for medical advice. In the event of an emergency Dr
Ryan has highly qualified teams available 24 hours a day at Royal Children’s Hospital and Austin
Hospital.

PATIENT INFO

Billing information:
o Consultations are partially funded by Medicare. There is a gap payment which is
unable to be claimed on private health insurance. Ring for details of the charges
for a consultation.
o Operations:
 Hospital costs are covered by private insurance.
 Surgeon costs – the amount of gap payment depends on the insurance
provider (our fees are the same for every patient, however medical
insurance coverage is variable).


Anaesthetic cost – generally there is a gap payment. This amount can
only be estimated once the individual anaesthetist is assigned. Please
call our reception for more detailed information.
