Airds Moss RSPB reserve. Joint walk with Clyde MC with ranger, Steve Owen, on this
peat land habitat. Peat land restoration, interesting bog plants and nesting waders. Fairly
rough terrain. Meet at car park by Co-op in the middle of Muirkirk (on the A70 approx 12

Ayr Gorge Woodlands SSSI
A spectacular walk on paths through ancient woodland above a steep ravine promises
good birdwatching, bluebells and rarer spring flowers. Park opposite Failford Inn on the

A scenic circular walk from Kilchattan over rough terrain to St Blane's chapel and back
through farmland. Meet at Calmac ticket office Wemyss Bay for 1015 ferry. Fare

taking in moorland and woodlands. (Note tricky ford crossing.) Meet at Renton railway

Hogganfield Loch visit A Ranger led joint walk with Clyde MC around the loch and
farmland looking at how creating new habitats has attracted wildlife. Includes meadow,
hedgerow and a bee bank for solitary bees. Meet in car park at Hogganfield Loch. Contact

through this habitat rich reserve.RSPB have recently acquired part of Wards’ estate
