Breakstone Book
Throughout the month, we will be naming and describing winter clothing (scarf, sweater, boots) and
where they go on our body (boots on feet, hat on head). We will be using verbs associated with getting
dressed (put on, take off, over, under) and with snow play (throw snowball, shovel snow). Children will
be practicing concepts such as hot and cold, as well as other adjectives associated with winter (cloudy,
rainy). When at home, practice the vocabulary for the month by describing the clothes we wear in the
winter. When getting them dressed, give them choices (hat or boots first) and describing your actions
(put jacket on, take boots off).
