o New USDA type tags: Enter the 3 letters, 4 numbers only (Do NOT enter the “42” U.S. code)
Meat Goat:
 Breeding Does
o 4-H ear tag OR tattoo required (State Fair does)
o If tattoo:
 Right Ear = Herd Prefix (Ex. “RFB”)
 Left Ear = Individual Animal Identifier (Ex. 534)
o Retinal Images REQUIRED (State Fair only)
o State Fair Breeding Does entered by county staff into 4HOnline

Fair Entry
 2015 State Fair Livestock will use the Fair Entry system
o 4-H’ers will make entry via Fair Entry
 County Fairs using Fair Entry for 2015:
o Will utilize new class numbering system for exhibits/communications and livestock
o Training/face to face meetings to occur throughout the spring – more details to come
Horse
 Increase from 2 horses to 3 horses entered per exhibitor
 ID Reminders
o ID a maximum of 5 horses total per 4-H’er
o Of those 5, max. of 2 can be leased
o NO leasing of halter horses
o Leased horses must have a completed lease form in 4HOnline
o Each horse can only be ID’ed by ONE 4-H’er, unless:
 There are more 4-H’ers in a family than horses – for example, 4-H’er A and B could both ID horse X
o 4-H’ers can ID horses in 4-H and FFA as long as they are DIFFERENT horses – for example, horse A and B
in 4-H, horse C and D in FFA
o State Fair exhibitors will still have to choose to show in either the 4-H horse show OR the FFA horse
show, not both; but, they could show FFA at county and then 4-H at state fair (with different horses)
Meat Goats





Market meat goat class will consist of both market wethers and market does
ALL State Fair nominated meat goats (both market and breeding animals) MUST have retinal images collected
Entry limit increased from 4 total goats to 6 total (max. of 4 market or 4 breeding goats entered)
Rubber mats: If using rubber mats at State Fair, a layer of bedding must be underneath the mat
