Patients who do not attend appointments for doctors, nurses or HCAs are classed as DNA’s (Did Not Attend. Due to the high numbers of missed appointments the surgery introduces a new procedure. The practice now has an active Patient Participation Group called Friends@DNA who meet regularly to raise points which might be improved and to engage patients in events and activity groups which may be of interest to them. The “Friends” meet regularly at the Surgery and, since their formation about a year ago, has covered a lot of ground, in liaison with the doctors and staff: there is always more to do! Dates of “Friends” meetings and events are posted on the Friends’ noticeboard in the waiting Room, where the aims are also shown. The next walks in Sunny Hill Park will be on Sunday 11th January. The next meeting will be held in the surgery on 7th January at 6pm. Friends at DNA will also have coffee morning on 4th December. The group welcome all-comers to join a meeting and see what it’s about. Patients who have failed to attend three or more appointments cannot make advanced appointments for one year. These patients will be able to book an appointment on the day ONLY.
