‘The US Friends Student Scholarship’ a scholarship provided by alumni of Newcastle University This funding may be available to full time students taking part on the following scheme: US Students taking part on Newcastle University’s Study Abroad programme Details: Terms of the studentship The US Friends Scholarship is offered, through competitive applications, to up to 3 US students undertaking any of the University’s four Study Abroad strands, these include: Pre-Medical; Arts and Social Sciences; Agriculture and Engineering; Business and Finance. One applicant will be chosen according to evidence of academic ability (which might be reflected in course results), energy and commitment to studies, financial circumstances and quality of application. Each scholarship is offered for one year and is worth $2,000. Scholarship winners will be invited to attend the University’s Annual Donor Scholarship Event in June 2011. The Scholarships are only available to full time Newcastle University students from the US taking part on Newcastle University’s Study Abroad programme. REGULATIONS 1. The US Friends Scholarships are offered to 3 US students undertaking any of the University’s four Study Abroad strands including Pre-Medical, Arts and Social Sciences, Agriculture and Engineering and Business and Finance. 2. This Scholarship(s) is only available to full time Newcastle University students from the US taking part on Newcastle University’s Study Abroad programme. 3. Each award is worth $2,000 for one year of study and is payable in equal amounts in October and March of the academic year directly to the holder to use towards living costs. 4. Applicants must be registered students at Newcastle University during the 2010/11 academic year on one of University’s Study Abroad Programmes. 5.
