About the XANADU Goberian Puppies.

XANADU has a newsletter that I simply call, "Pup Alert," and I do send out breeding schedules (when ready), notices of confirmed pregnancies, births with baby pictures, information regarding available puppies, etc. At your request, I'll be sure to include your name, too. Meanwhile, because I get so many requests for Goberians, I've copied below a brief informational paper about the Goberian's characteristics. Most people have not owned a Siberian

Husky before, although everyone is familiar with the beauty and willingness to please of the Golden Retriever. We expect five litters + (hope!) next puppy season, one litter will be exceptionally large for a Goberian (70 + pounds as an adult). We will probably have a litter of minis (30# or so as adults), as well.

GOBERIAN CHARACTERISTICS

We should have five litters in 2016, if all goes well. Photos of SOME of our parent dogs are on our website under "Breeding Dogs." We also use some

Siberian Huskies from our network of breeders.

Because I get so many inquiries about Goberians from people who want them--even sight unseen--I have written a description that follows. Please also see attachments that you may find helpful, and thank you so much for writing to XANADU. We've got your pup! But it'll take a few months for him/her to be ready for you.

GOBERIANS are a cross between Siberian Huskies and Golden Retrievers.

People love the Goberian puppies, because they love the beauty and calm disposition of the Siberian Husky, and the beauty and trainability of the

Golden Retriever. Most people love Golden Retrievers AND perhaps at times, find them to be too-much-of-a-good-thing. If you’ve been around sweet, loving, anxious-to-please Goldens, you have probably noticed that some want to be lapdogs and to kiss your face all the time. That’s a lot of dog breath. The purebred Siberian Husky is a calm, sweet sled dog (that is, if the parents/grandparents/ancestors also have good dispositions).

Siberians often ask, when given a command, “Hey, what’s in this for me?”

Or they may say, “Give me some time to think about that!” and off they run. But the combination of these two amazing breeds produces a

Goberian with marvelous family-dog characteristics: They study their humans and are both smart and trainable (some really do seem to be

mind-readers.) These pups are exceptionally PEOPLE-ORIENTED, friendly, non-barky, smart, healthy, good pups that don't chew on children

(well, almost never), and they house train themselves with little human intervention. They love to pull sleds or wagons. They love skijor. The love cold weather and snow, and are good indoor/outdoor dogs. And they love each other’s company—like all pack/herd/school/flock animals that work or live in groups for their common good. Two Goberians can always find creative ways to get into trouble, and help wear each other out—we humans may call that “exercise.” Some people enjoy watching their dogs paling around with each other as much as they love taking their dogs out for a run, “Chinook!, Polar! Wanna go for a walk?” And like all Golden

Retrievers, you can also exercise your Goberian with a good game of fetch.

Some retrieving dogs will fetch until your arm grows much too tired to play any longer.

Sizes range between about 45 and 70 pounds for a “standard,” although the 70-pounders are bred for larger size (they have larger parents). Size depends on the sizes of parent/grandparent dogs. Colors include ALL

Siberian colors, from white, champagne, Golden Retriever colors of goldto-red, to Husky-patterned red, silver, chocolate, and black-tri-colors (e.g., black/white/silver/and perhaps tan markings). Husky-or-wolfy masks are preferred by me, as well as blue eyes. These coat patterns and eye colors in pups often make the pup more expensive—if you can find a

Goberian pup from a reputable breeder. At this point, I am the only

Goberian breeder in the world. Every few years, you may also find accidental litters of Goberian pups, most likely from untested parents

(parents have not been cleared of genetic issues—hips, eyes, heart, etc.— that can be problematic in both the Golden Retriever and the Siberian

Husky). Just yesterday, a N.J. man sent me a photo of his “rescue”

Goberian…I’m not sure the dog had any Goberian in her at all. Probably

German Shepherd, Chow, and other, yet probably a good girl, too.

Certainly a girl who needed a good home.

XANADU of the Rockies has a Guardian breeding program; that is, you could have one our best pups for the lowest price (contact breeder for information). Without XANADU’S Guardian program, there will be no gorgeous pups in XANADU'S future. Basically, someone gets the best pup from a given litter for a very low price; the pup gets a great home; I get to see the Guardian pup's special characteristics in future litters. Guardians are USUALLY females, with a two-to-three-litter (negotiable) breeding

agreement (none of the females have yet had three litters; most have had just one or two). XANADU also pays the Guardian Home for pup care.

Please contact XANADU for information if you are interested in a

Guardian puppy.

Goberian pups are perfect indoor/outdoor dogs for the Rockies.

Guaranteed to be healthy, including genetic health (hips, stifles, eyes, heart, etc.); please note that XANADU breeds for temperament first, health second, intelligence, longevity, and then for vanity features—like those pretty blue eyes (and etc.; please see our website ( www.xanadoodle.com

Mission under the clickable, “What Sets Us Apart”).

People are already placing deposits on the 2016 litters--probably because I'm the only Goberian breeder in the world right now. My Goberians are the same prices as my Doodles, Pomskies, etc. Deposits are $400 and can be made by PayPal (just use our email addresses) or by snail mail to XANADU'S address:

I'd like to put you on my Pup Alert news, so you will know about breedings, confirmed pregnancies, births with baby pictures, and available puppies. Thank you for contacting XANADU. You are welcome to contact me any time with questions, especially if I failed to answer all of your questions in the "Goberian Characteristics” above. It's fun to watch the selection of parent dogs, to be aware of breedings, pregnancy confirmations through puppy birth and watch them grow up with photos of the pups. And it's especially fun when the pups are about three weeks old, and we can make pretty good guesses about eye color.
