Provide technical advice to Operations on plant operating rates, conditions and procedures Provide support to junior engineers to ensure work is completed in a timely and effective manner. DIMENSIONS Budget - Opex - Capex $5000 Number of Direct Reports Number of Indirect Reports TS9Z0034 - Employees - Contractors possibly 1 from time to time - Employees - Contractors Page 1 of 4 Rev. 0 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES RESULTS/DELIVERABLES Process Engineering Process Safety Management (PSM) TS9Z0034 Page 2 of 4 Ensures that an effective Process Engineering service to the Operations Department is consistently provided in order to achieve daily excellence in the areas of plant operation with particular support in defining daily targets such as: Plant rate Operating conditions/profiles Inventory management Short term shutdown/start-up planning Provides engineering input into troubleshooting operational problems. Reviews operating procedures that require technical input. Provides engineering service to the Operations Department in order to achieve long term (>6months) excellence in the areas of plant performance with particular support in achieving targets in reliability, safety, productivity, efficiency and plant change. Identifies, evaluates and executes continuous improvement opportunities to drive down unit cost of production, improve production capability and/or minimise overall risk of harm to people, the environment. Manages and completes work to meet or exceed relevant Process & Project KPIs. Provides process engineering support for plant changes using the Plant Change Request procedures. Provides PCR leadership of specified project teams dealing with major plant changes. Supports the Process engineering element of the capital planning process such that studies, justifications and value propositions are provided for work that is on, or proposed to go on the annual Capital Plan Provides Process support to other MX sites Process staff as required. Provides technical recommendations to the SMT and capital planning team for catalyst related decisions including selection, replacement, performance monitoring and disposal. Assists in the development of junior engineers through knowledge sharing and coaching. Ensures compliance with the requirements of PSM to minimise overall risk of harm to people, harm to the environment or loss prevention through completion of audits and timely close out of assigned PSM element corrective actions. Improves the safety in design performance of MXNZ through application of learning from incidents at other sites. Participates in risk/safety reviews required for plant changes. Provides back-up to the Lead/Principal Process Engineer to cover for leave/absence when requested Ensures project work is implemented in accordance with MX procedures, MX Project Standards (MPS), statutory compliance and NZ legislation. Preferably a Chartered member of IChemE. EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Minimum of seven years experience in Process / Utilities Engineering encompassing all aspects including trouble shooting, monitoring, auditing, conceptual design etc. Minimum 3 years experience working with Hydrocarbon processing facilities. 5-7 years design experience in the sizing and selection of standard processing units, e.g. pumps, control valves, relief valves, compressors and distillation systems Competent user of Process related design and hazard review/assessment software, e.g. HYSYS, PHAPro.
