Strategic Planning To assist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, and teaching strategies in the Curriculum Area. To plan and prepare courses and lessons including projects in collaboration with UTC partner organisations. To assist the heads of curriculum area to identify resource needs and to contribute to the efficient/effective use of physical resources. Tutor Role To promote a safe environment for all students as part of the safeguarding agenda To promote the general progress and well-being of individual students. To register students, accompany them to meetings and events, encourage their full attendance at all lessons and their participation in other aspects of UTC life. To undertake regular personal review interviews with students to assist in evaluating their progress and development and in identifying and monitoring personal action plans. To monitor and support progress towards the Duke of York Award through the Passport to Success system. To evaluate and monitor the progress of students and keep up-to-date the individual student progress file and other records as may be required. To contribute to the preparation of reports, including the drafting of references. To alert the appropriate heads of curriculum area to problems experienced by students and to make recommendations as to how these may be resolved.
