Purchase Specifications for a 5–9nm+ Marine Lantern Overview This specification is for a 5–9nm+ marine lantern. The manufacturer will be able to provide the option of a self-contained, solar powered assembly housed in a weatherproof enclosure including solar array, sealed battery and charge controller. The lanterns shall be delivered ready to install. The only assembly required will be activation of each individual lantern and optional mounting accessories. 1.0 Light Characteristics The lantern shall be available in one (1), two (2), three (3) or four (4) tier models. The lantern shall consist of up to four (4) tiers with each tier housing 36 ultra-high intensity LEDs. The lantern output shall be available in red, green, white, yellow and blue. The lantern shall have a maximum available intensity (dependent on model) of up to: - Red lantern output 860cd - Green lantern output 623cd - White lantern output 602cd - Yellow lantern output 363cd The lantern shall have a visible range of 5–9nm+. The lantern shall have a horizontal output of 360 degrees. The lantern shall have a vertical divergence of nine (9) degrees for the one (1), two (2) and three (3) tier models; and a vertical divergence of five (5) for the four (4) tier model The lantern shall have up to 256 IALA recommended user-adjustable flash characteristics. The intensity of the lantern shall be adjustable in 25% increments. 2.0 Electrical Characteristics The lantern shall have a current draw of up to 1.7 Amps dependent on the colour of the lantern and model. The lantern shall have integrated circuit protection. The lantern shall have an operating voltage of 12v. The lantern shall have an operating temperature range between -40 to 80°C. 3.0 Physical Characteristics The body of the lantern shall be manufactured from UV-stabilised LEXAN® polycarbonate. The lantern lens shall be manufactured from UV-stabilised LEXAN® polycarbonate. The lantern shall have a lens diameter of 150mm (5⅞ inches). The lantern shall have a lens design using external optics with interior flute design. The lantern shall have a mounting pattern using 3 x 4 hole bolt pattern on 200mm OD base.
