Ready Steady Talk, an activity book aimed at developing young children’s skills in

both parent and child prepare. It can also be used with older children who are struggling in
their development of speech, language and communication

packed with ideas for activities and games focusing on the five essential ‘ingredients’ that

Progress Check: Communication and Language - The DfE Statutory Framework for the Early
Years Foundation Stage requires that practitioners provide parents with a written summary
of their child’s development between 24 and 36 months in the three prime areas of
learning. This progress check is one way of meeting this requirement for communication

Our resources are for professionals and parents to help children’s speaking, listening and
understanding. They are aimed at specific ages, although some may be used with older
children who are struggling with their communication. Resources are available for children
from birth to age 19.
