The ISEMP Projects Biomark is manufacturing, installing and maintaining custom in-river detection systems as part of ISEMP (Integrated Status and Effectiveness Monitoring Program) at 9 sites throughout Idaho, Washington and Oregon in 2010, 2011. We do this by implementing Status and Trend and Effectiveness monitoring strategies in ISEMP Pilot Basins located throughout the Pacific Northwest. The main ISEMP Pilot Basins are: John Day (OR) Bridge Creek (John Day Basin, OR) Wenatchee (WA) Entiat (WA) South Fork Salmon (ID) Lemhi (ID) ISEMP was created in 2003 as a cost effective means of developing a region-wide Research, Monitoring and Effectiveness (RME) program that can efficiently collect data and other information to address many management objectives over a broad range of scales. This RME program assesses the status of anadromous salmonid populations, their tributary habitat, and restoration and management actions. In addition, ISEMP plays a key role in the Action Agencies’ Federal Columbia River Power System’s Biological Opinion habitat restoration strategy by providing the design and evaluation of watershed-scale habitat rehabilitation actions necessary for the off-site mitigation program. ISEMP is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Chris Jordan with NOAA-Fisheries who oversees a team of experts working in and around the pilot sub-basins. ISEMP is predominantly funded by the Bonneville Power Administration and matched with funding from local agencies. Entities involved: NOAA Biomark Inc. Quantitative Consultants Inc.
