Overall composite checklist for JAP102 Self-Study module How will you be assessed? Throughout the course of the term you have to insert self-access learning tasks onto your Mahara ePortfolio within the given deadlines. Use the following table to help you prepare your ePortfolio tasks for assessment (Total 15%): Use the following composite checklist to make sure you have included all the required elements for assessment: Introduction to Self-Study Items Deadline Library orientation activity. (Refer to the worksheet entitled: Library orientation mini tasks) Week 5 Speaking A video or audio-file featuring either (choose only ONE option): o a 3-min self-introduction o a 3-min short speech o a 10-min pair interview (or role play) Week 12 Listening Vocabulary Feedback : review the speaking task of a peer A written reflection (at least 125 words) Choose your own listening material (from the web or from the library MLLC web resources and/or their onsite resources); Complete the task record on the worksheet entitled Listening; Photocopy the listening exercise. (Include the reference and print screen of a listening task from an online or audio-visual source + upload completed Listening worksheet) Choose 30 new words you would like to learn in Japanese. Look them up in a dictionary and keep a vocabulary record of each one indicating their spelling in Hiragana and their Kanji (if any) or Katakana and their English translation using the worksheet entitled Vocabulary; Then, find at least ten of these chosen new words in newspapers, magazines or books (in the library or online). Photocopy or scan the pages from which you extracted the words and underline/highlight them.
