Connected Math - ANet Correlation Priority Teaching Standards Explanation: The Connected Math Series’ Investigations are currently not aligned to the priority standards that ANet for each of the assessment cycles. In order to prepare students for the 4 interim assessments, the following guide provides teachers with the correlation between what content is on each of the 4 assessments and the Investigations. Once the correlations were complete, the issue of how much time each of the investigations would take to complete and the timing of when the ANet assessments are given, certain investigations had to be given priority over others. This priority is delineated by placing the investigations into categories that provide a framework for both the scope and sequence of the investigations. Tier Major Investigations Supporting Investigations Additional Investigations Explanation These are the primary investigations that must be taught for fundamental preparation of students for each assessment cycle. These investigations are highlighted in green. Investigations are listed in order of which they should be taught investigations A should be taught first followed by B and C. Students may need support in transitioning to the new topic through the addition of one or two weeks of scaffolding lessons. These are the secondary investigations that should be taught for a more in-depth preparation of students for each assessment cycle. These investigations are highlighted in yellow. Investigations are followed by the letter of the corresponding Investigation and order in which the investigations should be taught. (Bits and Pieces I - Inv. 2: Sharing and Comparing with Fractions (B 1)) These are the tertiary investigations that can be taught for an extended application of content and skill for each assessment cycle. These investigations are highlighted in blue. Expectation of Implementation All Investigations Must be Taught.
