LECTURER
Fall 2014
History of the Earth System GEOL 208
A class specifically for Geology majors, this is the ‘starter’ course for new majors to be
introduced to in depth topics covering the formation and evolution of life and Earth through
geologic history.
Fall 2014
History of Life GEOL 143
An introductory-level course focusing on how life began on Earth and the processes and
events that led to the kind of life we see on Earth today. The class covers all trees of life and
the chemistry, physics, geology, and biology that affect the evolution of life throughout
geologic history.
VISITING INSTRUCTOR
Spring 2014
Natural Disasters GEOL 118
An introductory, general education course on the violent geological processes on our planet,
such as Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Floods, Meteorite Impacts, and Mass
Extinction. The course focuses on the prevention, mitigation, and education about natural
disasters to our society and communities.
