Relay For Life history in our community…
The Relay For Life has had overwhelming success in Nash County since it began in 1994.
The past 20 years have demonstrated the dedication of the Nash County residents in the
fight against cancer.
 Relay For Life began in Nash County with almost 200 participants in 1994. The
participation in 2014 projected at more than 5,000 residents of Nash County.
Included in this estimate are 70 teams, 1,000 walkers, 375 cancer survivors, and
an additional 3,000 spectators during the overnight event
Being a Corporate Sponsor is an excellent way to fund the research that is necessary to
find new ways to detect, treat and someday cure cancer. Here’s why:
 Corporate Sponsorships are an opportunity for your corporation to be associated
with the American Cancer Society, the nationwide leader in the fight against
cancer.
 Corporate sponsorships associate your corporate name with Relay For Life, which
is being held in more than 100 communities across North Carolina and more than
4,400 communities nationwide.
 A corporate sponsorship shows your employees, as well as your community, that
their health is important and that you have made a commitment to fighting
cancer.
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community based voluntary health organization dedicated to
eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from
cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
Event Sponsorship Levels
Celebration Sponsor - $10,000.00 and up
Benefits include:
 Up to two company logos prominently displayed on event T-shirt.
 Your company will be recognized as a Celebration Sponsor in any print, radio and TV promotions,
as well as event publications (newsletters, Web site, etc.)
 Up to five of your company-provided banners may be displayed at the Relay event.
 Up to three full-page ads for your company can be included in the Relay For Life program. *
 Your company will be recognized during the Opening Ceremonies of the event.
 Your sponsorship includes the participant commitment fee for up to 20 participants.
Hope Sponsor - $5,000.00
Benefits include:
 Your company logo will be prominently displayed on the event T-shirt.
 Your company will be recognized as a Hope Sponsor in print, radio, and TV advertising, as well as
event publications (newsletters, Web site, etc.)
 Up to four of your company-provided banners may be displayed at the Relay event.
 Two full-page ads (7.5’’ x 10’’) for your company can be included in the Relay For Life program.
 Your company executives or representatives may be announced at the Opening Ceremonies of
the event.
 Your sponsorship includes the participant commitment fee for up to 15 participants.
Inspiration Sponsor - $2,500.00
Benefits include:
 Your company logo will be displayed on the event T-shirt.
 Your company will be recognized as an Inspiration Sponsor in print, radio, and TV advertising, as
well as event publications (newsletters, Web site, etc.)
 Up to three of your company-provided banners may be displayed at the Relay event.
 One full-page ad (7.5’’ x 10’’) for your company can be included in the Relay For Life program.
 Your sponsorship includes the participant commitment fee for up to 15 participants.
Spirit Sponsor - $1,000.00
Benefits include:
 Your company logo will be displayed on the event T-shirt.
 Your company will be recognized as a Spirit Sponsor in printed advertising and event newsletters.
 Up to two of your company-provided banners may be displayed at the Relay event.
 A ½ page ad (3.75’’ x 10’’ or 7.5’’ x 5’’) for your company will be included in the Relay For Life
program.
 Your sponsorship includes the participant commitment fee for up to 10 participants.
Research Sponsor - $750.00
Benefits include:
 Your company will be recognized as a Research Sponsor in printed advertising and event
newsletters.
 One company-provided banner may be displayed at the Relay event.
 A ¼ page ad (3.75’’ x 5’’) for your company will be included in the Relay For Life program.
Progress Sponsor - $500.00

All General Sponsors will be listed in the Relay For Life program and included in event newsletter
publications.
*Banners are provided by the sponsors. Our logistics volunteers will assist in hanging them at the event. Ads for
the program will be provided by the sponsor and included in the program at no additional fee.
Survivor Celebration Sponsor - $1,000
Relay For Life is a celebration of life for those individuals who have faced cancer and survived. Prior to the event,
survivors are encouraged to fellowship with each other at various gatherings. The final gathering before the event
is the Survivor Dinner. This dinner is a wonderful time of joy, celebrating the victories of each survivor.
At the opening ceremonies of the Relay For Life, survivors are given the honor of officially beginning the Relay by
making the first lap around the track as they are cheered on by loved ones, friends, and all Relay participants.
Sponsor benefits include:
 Your company logo will be displayed on the event T-shirt.
 Participation of company representatives in the Survivor Ceremony/Reception.
 Your company will be recognized as the Survivor Celebration Sponsor in print, radio and TV
advertising, as well as event publications.
 A half-page ad for your company can be included in the Relay For Life program.
PLEASE NOTE:
Funds donated for Survivor sponsorships are often not paid directly to the American Cancer
Society. However, a statement from the Society can be provided for tax purposes.
Specialty Sponsors (Gift-In-Kind)
The Relay For Life also depends on businesses that graciously donate products and services for the event. The
following sponsorship levels are available for Specialty Sponsors:
Victory Sponsors – Value of $2,500
Specialty sponsors who provide products and/or services that have a retail value of $2,500 or more are designated
as Victory Sponsors. The benefits include:
 Your company logo will be displayed on the event T-shirt.
 Your company will be recognized as a Victory Sponsor in radio, and TV advertising, as well as
event publications (newsletters, Web site, etc.).
 Up to three company banners may be displayed at the Relay event.*
 A full-page ad (7.5’’ x 10’’) for your company can be included in the Relay For Life program.
 Your sponsorship includes the participant commitment fee for up to 15 participants.
Cure Sponsors – Value of $1,000
Specialty sponsors who provide products and/or services that have a retail value between $1,000 and $2,499 are
designated as Cure Sponsors. The benefits include:
 Your company name or logo will be displayed on the event T-shirt.
 Your company will be recognized as a Cure Sponsor in Relay promotions and online.
 Up to two company banners may be displayed at the Relay event.*
 A ½ page ad (3.75’’ x 10’’ or 7.5’’ x 5’’) for your company can be included in the Relay For Life
program.
 Your sponsorship includes the participant commitment fee for up to 10 participants.
Progress Sponsors – Value of $500


Specialty sponsors who provide products and/or services that have a retail value between $500 and $999
are designated as General Sponsors. All Progress Sponsors are listed in the Relay For Life program.
Your company executives or representatives may participate in a Corporate Sponsor Lap around the track.
*Banners are provided by the sponsors. Our logistics volunteers will assist in hanging them at the event.
