BULK BOOK ORDER CLUB
2014-2015 Book List
Hello, Claret Farm Academy families!
We are now offering a bulk book order club for Claret Farm Academy families, including the books
required by Schola Rosa/Rolling Acres School, and a handful of their recommended books. Enclosed you
will find the 2014-2015 Book List. Please read the following instructions and explanations carefully, so
that you will know if you want to participate in the Bulk Book Order Club.
WHAT IS A BULK BOOK ORDER CLUB?
A Bulk Book Order Club is a way to get our books at a discounted price and save on shipping costs by
purchasing books as a group.
HOW THE BULK BOOK ORDER CLUB WORKS
1. Mark the number of books you want to purchase on the “Quantity” column on the enclosed
Book List.
2. By July 1st, 2014, return your completed Order Form to Christelle Hagen either by email or
regular mail. (Addresses below.) This is to get a “ballpark” idea if there will be enough orders to
go forward, and if so, from which publishers we will need to make orders.
3. Christelle will combine the orders from the various families and plan out a schedule of orders.
4. Just prior to making an order, Christelle will send out an email to those who want books from a
particular publisher, listing exact prices and the shipping cost, divided by the families whose
books are included in the order. Once you confirm your order, you are committing to paying
for the books when they arrive at Claret Farm.
5. Christelle will place the order.
6. When the books arrive, Christelle will receive them and then shelve them in a secure location in
the Claret Farm Booktique with an itemized statement including your order total.
7. You will receive notification by email or phone (whichever you prefer) that your books are in.
You are welcome to pick them up anytime between 9 and 5 Monday through Saturday.

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CLUB
WILL YOU STOCK SCHOLA ROSA BOOKS IN THE BOOK STORE SO WE CAN BUY THEM IF WE WANT THEM?
Yes, for a few of the books of more general interest. However, since the books on this list are mainly
books required by the Schola Rosa curriculum, we decided that a Bulk Book Order Club made more
sense than keeping inventory on books no one may want or need.
WHY IS THERE A DEADLINE FOR ORDERING?
In order to receive your books in a timely fashion, we request that you return your book orders no later
than July 1st, 2014. To minimize the amount paid for shipping the books to the Farm, and to maximize
our discount, we will combine CFA families’ orders and place them with the publishers in the days
following that date. The deadline is necessary so that we can have our orders completed by mid-July.
(Some publishers are quite slow at shipping books, especially during the busy summer season.)
I MISSED THE JULY 1ST DEADLINE. CAN I STILL ORDER WITH THE BULK BUYING CLUB?
You are welcome to add to an order if we have not yet placed the order for the particular publisher(s) of
your book(s). Contact Christelle for more information.
WHERE DID YOU GET THE PRICES LISTED ON THIS BOOK LIST?
The prices listed on this Book List are, to the best of our knowledge, the most current retail (publisher’s)
price for a new copy of each book. It is quite likely that most of these books are sold through other
sources for a lower price, especially if you are willing to purchase used books. However, since we need
to order directly from the publisher for new copies, we have listed the publisher’s prices. If the
publisher will give us a discount, we will pass the savings onto the Buying Club. We will send you the
exact price for your book(s) in an email message prior to placing the order so you can decide at that time
if you want to order those particular book(s).
WHAT IF WE ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO WANT A PARTICULAR BOOK?
We will only place orders for books if there is a financial advantage to purchasing them as a group. We
will let you know by July 15th if there are certain books you want for which we do not have enough
requests to bulk order so that you can get them on your own.
HOW DOES THE BOOKSTORE PROFIT FROM THIS BULK ORDER CLUB?
It does not. It is simply a way to work cooperatively as families in order to pay less for our books. We
may be interested in buying back your no longer wanted used books at the end of the year to sell to
future families.
WHAT DOES OOPU MEAN?
Books that labeled OOPU were Out of Print or Unavailable to purchase at the time this Book List was
published. We are unable to order those books. Should you want a copy of those books, your best
option is to order them from an online used book retailer. They are included here for your information.
