Learn how to take your award-winning small batch recipe, and ramp up for a large batch brew to be kegged and distributed throughout Sonoma County. Winner will receive 2 kegs of final product and retain ownership of their recipe. All other production brew will be the property of 101 North Brewing
Co. with a portion of the proceeds going to the Petaluma Downtown Association.
Top 10 will be determined by public, and entered into Best of Show to be selected by expert beer judges from Petaluma Breweries, but not limited to. Winner announced at end of event day of.

PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE TO PARTICIPATE. ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL,
AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
1. Eligibility
Sonoma County Home Brewers Competition (the "Competition") is open to legal residents of the fifty (50)
United States and the District of Columbia who are amateur brewers and at least twenty-one (21) years old at the time of entry. For the purposes of the Competition “amateur” means one who engages in brewing as a pastime rather than a profession. Brewmasters and professional brewers, whether currently or in a previous position, are not eligible. Entrants are prohibited from either hiring; or soliciting personal consultations with, brewing professionals in order to craft the beer submitted to the Competition. Employees of the Petaluma
Downtown Association, Petaluma Downtown Association Board Members, Competition Judges, and other companies associated with the promotion of the Competition, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible. The Competition is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
2. Sponsor
The Competition is sponsored by the Petaluma Downtown Association, located at 210 Lakeville Street,
Petaluma, California 94952.
3. Agreement to Official Rules
Participation in the Competition constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning the Grand Prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.
4. Eligible Styles of Beer and Necessary Quantities
Entries must be cereal grain based. No wild, sour, or barrel aged beers. Entries must be brewed at home or in a non-commercial setting. Entries brewed at a commercial setting; whether for research, production, or any other purpose, including brewpubs and “other brew-on-premise” commercial establishments, will be automatically disqualified. Entrants must provide a minimum of 10 gallons per entry. Either 1 growler or bottles holding at least the equivalent of ½ gallon of beer must be reserved by the Entrant for official judging. Entrants may submit 1 type of beer for this competition.
5. Equipment Provided by Entrant and Decor
Entrant(s) must provide: all pouring equipment, minimum 10 gallons of beer per type of beer entered, runoff/dump bucket(s), and mats to set under equipment to capture condensation. Entrants may bring décor, signage, or information to distribute at their designated area. Sponsor reserves the right to remove any signage, décor, or items which it deems to be harmful or offensive, at Sponsor’s discretion.
6. Equipment Provided by Sponsor
Sponsor will provide each entrant with: a tabletop surface, ice, free admission and beer tasting for a total of 2 persons over the age of 21, 1 commemorative tasting glass, and 2 towels.
7. Size of Eligible Teams
The Competition is open to either individuals or teams of 2 people. All entrants, whether individuals or teams, compete for the same Grand Prize. A team awarded the Grand Prize must share the Grand Prize amongst themselves, The Sponsor will not divvy the prize up for individual team members, nor make individual distributions to individual team members.
8. How to Enter
Online: This method of entry will be available by visiting our website
(www.SonomaCountyHomeBrewersCompetition.com) and following the directions provided to fill out the entry information, and submit. Online entries must be submitted by 5:00pm on April 18.
Via Mail: Fill out the form from our website or pick up a form from the Petaluma Downtown Association 210
Lakeville Street Petaluma, CA 94952 and mail in an envelope with proper postage affixed to: 210 Lakeville
Street, Petaluma, California, 94952. All mail-in entries must be received by April 18, 2016 by 5pm.
9. Judging
On May 28, 2016, at 5:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time the Judges will select 1 Grand Prize winner.
10. Grand Prize
GRAND PRIZE (1) Meet and brew with Joel Johnson, Brewmaster at 101 North Brewing Company. 101 North
Brewing Company will scale-up the Grand Prize recipe and brew the beer to be kegged and distributed throughout Sonoma County. Grand Prize winner receives 2 kegs of the Grand Prize winning beer as brewed by
101 North Brewing Company. Grand prize winner will not be compensated for their time or for commercially sold beer derived from the Grand Prize winning recipe.
11. General Conditions
In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Competition is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, bug, worm, unauthorized human intervention or other technical problem, Acts of God, or in the event the Competition is cancelled for any reason, as determined by
Sponsor in its sole discretion, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the Competition to address the impairment and then resume the Competition in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these
Official Rules or (b) terminate the Competition. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to damage the website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages
(including attorney's fees) and any other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
12. Release and Limitations of Liability
By participating in the Competition, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsor, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, other companies associated with the Competition, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives, and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the
Competition or receipt or use of the Grand Prize (including any travel or activity related thereto), including, but not limited to: (a) any technical errors associated with the Competition, including lost, interrupted or unavailable Internet Service Provider (ISP), network, server, wireless service provider, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone, cellular tower or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties; (b) unauthorized human intervention in the
Competition; (c) mechanical, network, electronic, computer, human, printing or typographical errors; (d) lost, late, incomplete, garbled, illegible, undelivered, stolen, damaged, delayed, postage-due or misdirected mail, entries, application downloads, (e) any other errors or problems in connection with the Competition, including, without limitation, errors that may occur in the administration of the Competition, judging, the announcement of the winner, the cancellation or postponement of the event, if applicable, the incorrect downloading of the application, the processing of entries application downloads or in any Competition-related materials; or (f) injury, death, losses or damages of any kind, to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrants participation in the Competition or acceptance, receipt or misuse of the Grand
Prize (including any travel or activity related thereto). Entrant agrees that they will receive no financial compensation from either Sponsor or 101 North Brewing Company. Entrant acknowledges that the Sonoma
County Home Brewers Competition is a fundraiser for the Petaluma Downtown Association and that if Entrant should win the Grand Prize, the beer brewed in collaboration with 101 North Brewing Company will be sold for profit with the proceeds, if any, split between the Petaluma Downtown Association and 101 North Brewing
Company. Entrant acknowledges and agrees that they will receive no portion of the proceeds and no financial benefit whatsoever. Entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Petaluma Downtown Association may only benefit from the potential profits of the initial brewing at 101 North Brewing Company, and will not either participate in, or benefit from, any subsequent brews by 101 North Brewing Company. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Competition, and in no event shall the entrant be entitled to receive attorney's fees. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Competition. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
13. Privacy
Information collected from entrants is subject to sponsor's privacy policy.
14. Disputes
A controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Official Rules, or the breach thereof, where either party is seeking in excess of $10,000 in damages shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American
Arbitration Association in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
Each party shall bear its own costs and expenses and an equal share of the arbitrators' and administrative fees of arbitration.
