THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA | VANCOUVER William and Nona Heaslip Scholarship for 2015-2016 Two scholarships of $15,000.00 each are offered by The William and Nona Heaslip Foundation to UBC Faculty of Arts (Vancouver campus) undergraduate students completing their first year of degree work in the 2014 Winter session and entering UBC Faculty of Arts year 2 for the 2015 Winter session. Candidates must be in receipt of Government Student loans, show outstanding community involvement and leadership tempered with a strong first year academic performance (minimum 75% average). The award is renewable to UBCV Arts students for an additional two years or until a first undergraduate degree is obtained (whichever is the shorter period). The awards are made on the recommendation of a selection committee within the Faculty of Arts. (Total possible value $45,000 over 3 years). Normally this would mean, 27 percentage graded courses in the 2014Winter session with no failures or incompletes. Winners will be expected to complete 27 percentage graded courses in every Winter session that follows until their final year of study (excluding COOP terms). However, some students (varsity athletes, approved via Access and Diversity) may be eligible on less credits.
