Kenmore and District Community Council Minutes Acharn, Thursday 27th November 2014 PRESENT Peter Ely, Dee Haigh, Danny McQueeney, Cllr Ian Campbell and three members of the public. APOLOGIES a. Carol May, David Fox Pitt, John McGarry & Wilma Carlin. b. Chair confirmed that Wilma had resigned as Secretary and as a member of the Community Council. As elections are due in the new year it was agreed that no action to replace was required. Chair will act as Secretary until new Council elections are completed. MINUTES Meeting on 25th September 2014 Accepted as a correct record. MATTERS ARISING Vehicle activated speed sign. Cllr Campbell reported that a solar sign would be provided. Quote awaited. Agreed that sign should be situated prior to the turn into the village at the loch front. FINANCE No changes since last meeting. POLICE No presence. (Suggest joining “rural watch” as an option to improve communication and information) Go to WWW.pkruralwatch.co.uk COMMUNITY FUND Panel Next panel meeting on 4th December 2014. Agreed that a lack of applications from this area for major grants should be addressed. In particular, an effort should be made to resurrect the Old Comrades Hut Committee and an application for significant improvements should be made. Agreed Acharn Area Councillors pursue. Griffin and Calliachar wind farms provide approx £400,000 per year to community and charitable projects. Between 2011 and 2037 they expect to invest approx £10 million in local projects. Micro Grant Agreed payment of £200 to Acharn Children Christmas Party. HPCP Chair provided update: Broadband. Community company being set up need Trustees and name. (Any suggestions ?) . Commitments of support starting to be made e.g. Athol caravan park and Horse trials. Starting at Pitlochry. First trial started, covers Amulree. Apparently direct line of sight from hill at Pitlochry to hill at loch Tay. By Jan 2015, should have a programme in place to highlight development in say 5 Groups. This to be in line with funding and white post code areas for money from CBS. Leader Money . Approx £3/4 million (European cash to P&K). HPCP involved with setting up selection process and will have a representative within allocation Committee when established, should be soon. HEALTH & SOCIAL Resilience planning Dee provided an update. Neighborhood letter to be circulated. Social Committee Dee provided update. Post Office account now opened with £500 deposit. At the beginning of the year a very successful “Burns Supper” , 70 attended, was held. This is to be organised again - 24th January 2015 @ School Hall for 6:30pm. Highland Perthshire Community Liaison Group No Report. WIND FARMS Crossburn. Agreed we would continue with our policy not to support Wind Farm applications. Key issue is the lack of a local policy on limits in our area. In this case there is the additional detrimental visual impact that directly affect our area. PLANNING Taymouth Castle Discussed, although plenty of rumours nothing concrete, yet! Chair stated he had emailed John French. Expressed the view that the Community Council is supportive of the development restarting. Suggested that an outline from him or his representative of what is being proposed and when would be appreciated. We would identify specific problems and perhaps me plus secretary would meet him or his representative or they could come to a CC meeting. No response yet. Chair will follow up. FOOTPATHS P&K update.
