RULES RELATING TO SHEEP ENTRIES 1) All sheep will be subject to veterinary inspection on arrival. The committee reserves the right to request removal of any sheep deemed not up to the highest health standard expected at such an event. 2) All sheep must be clearly identified with an approved EID ear tag as required by DARD and appropriate documentation must accompany all animals. PERMITS SHOULD BE COMPLETED AND READY FOR COLLECTION ON ARRIVAL 3) Each entry must be the property of the exhibitor. 4) Owing to the layout of the site and the nature of the event exhibitors and vendors are respectfully requested to ensure that all livestock are in place by 9am. 5) SALE PEDIGREE SECTION: Pedigree certification for sale animals, where available, must accompany entry forms and only animals certified eligible by the relevant breed society will be catalogued. Animals sold in this section must be registered with the appropriate flock book society by the breeder, if required by purchaser, who shall bear any and all charges levied by the society on such transactions. 6) SALE – NON PEDIGREE SHEEP: Strictly females only – no male animals will be sold. 7) Sheep will be judged in their appropriate rings – the judge will not visit any pens, and exhibitors are solely responsible for representing their sheep in the judging ring in their proper class. 8) Sheep FOR SALE should have a clearly legible plastic (not card or paper) lot number neck tag attached with string(not an elastic band) to be worn on each sheep to gain access to sales penning . This is vital to avoid confusion during and after the sale. It is the vendor’s responsibility to ensure that sheep enter the sale ring with correct lot no. neck tag in place. Crossbred sheep must be bred from at least one rare breed parent who must be named. Crossbred sheep will be sold in appropriate groupings as decided by the Sheep Sub-committee. 9) The committee reserves the right to limit entries in any class or section in the interests of quality, safety, accommodation and market conditions. 10) THE COMMITTEE ALSO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO AMALGAMATE, DIVIDE OR CANCEL SHOWING CLASSES OR BREEDS WHERE IT IS DEEMED NECESSARY. 11) Neither the NI Support Group, the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, nor the Auctioneers will be liable for costs or losses in the event of a postponement, change of venue or cancellation of the show and sale or any part thereof. 12) Exhibitors of fleeces should have the breed of the sheep clearly marked on the entry number card provided. 13) Please ensure that all entry forms for all sections are clearly and correctly filled in using block letters.
