Algebra II CP Name:____________________________________________________________________ Date:______________ Marking Period 2 Quarterly: Projectile Motion Project In this project, you will create your own projectile motion word problem to model the function 𝒉(𝒕) = −𝟏𝟔𝒕𝟐 + 𝒗𝒐 𝒕 + 𝒉𝒐 where t is time in seconds, vo is initial velocity, and ho is initial height. You will be graded on creativity as well as the accuracy and completeness of your work. 1) Create a situation in which you are throwing/launching/dropping an object. Write out in a few sentences the situation. Include who, what, where, when and why as well as units for your chosen values of vo and ho (BE CREATIVE and ORIGINAL! See p. 292 and 298 in your text for models and ideas). 2) Write a quadratic function in standard form (𝒉(𝒕) = −𝟏𝟔𝒕𝟐 situation using the initial height and velocity that you create. + 𝒗𝒐 𝒕 + 𝒉𝒐 ) to model the ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 3) Find the equation of the axis of symmetry.
