Students will learn and practice the skill steps for joining a group. READ: “Join In and Play” by Cheri Meiners ( 790 Mei) Review the skill steps for Joining In: Step up to be noticed, say hi, and ask, Can I Play? And join the group where there is personal space. Roleplay joining in: All students practice using the skill steps. Handout: Cut and paste the steps for joining in. Fourth Grade Review positive and negative thoughts and who controls your thinking? Introduce the homework roadblocks. Re-organize into six groups; each group responsible for brainstorming ways to overcome the homework roadblock. Students will share their ideas with the class. Students will complete worksheet by identifying one of their personal roadblocks and listing ways to overcome the roadblock. Students will name the three Learning Styles discussed last class. Students will identify their personal Learning Style and explore ways to study using their preferred Learning Style. Students will complete the Learning Style Survey Students will view strategies for their Learning Style and pick out three new ideas for studying, using their preferred style.
