Student Scholarships
The Department of Criminal Justice is accepting scholarship applications from ECU
undergraduate criminal justice majors. See instructions and eligibility requirements below.
Applications are due Monday February 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
Available Scholarships
 David B. and Willa H. Stevens Criminal Justice Scholarship
o 2 scholarships @ $625 each

John F. Minges, III Scholarship in Criminal Justice
o 2 scholarships @ $500 each

Mr. and Mrs. James Bruner Criminal Justice Scholarship
o 1 scholarship @ $500

Criminal Justice Advisory Board Scholarship
o 2 scholarships @ $500 each

Application Instructions:




Complete (word process) the Student Scholarship Application (below)
Attach five copies of the applicant’s unofficial transcript via Banner One Stop
Print and sign five copies of your completed application then submit all signed copies
with Banner transcripts and supporting documents
Include a 500 word essay describing 1) educational/career plans in the criminal justice
field; 2) eligibility for the listed criteria; and 3) financial need
Scholarship Award Recipient Requirements (no exceptions):

Attend the College of Human Ecology Donor Appreciation reception on April 15, 2014
4:00-6:00 PM in the ECU Murphy Center (business attire; mandatory to receive
scholarship award)

Write an appreciation letter to the donor describing the benefit gained from the
scholarship award (mandatory to receive scholarship award; submit to Ms. Domer)
*
 Scholarship applicants must plan to register as a full time student for fall 2014 and spring 2015
to be eligible for consideration and receive funds since they are used for tuition and fees.
 Scholarship awards and amounts are contingent upon available funding.
 Scholarship awards will be evenly disbursed between the Fall 2014 and Spring
2015 semesters.
 Applicants are eligible for only one scholarship award per person.
