Fax 92961545 PCAWA SQUAD FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2015 September 28th – October 4th, Murray Bridge, SA. Applications for the 2015 National Championship should be made by 1st May 2015. This Championship will be held in South Australia in late September 2015. State team members will be selected from riders who apply and we require members who are aiming to compete at this level to maintain Performance Diaries which will be required to be submitted by July 3rd for selections to take place on July 6th. Please be advised PCA have released the General Regulations and discipline Rules for the 2015 PCA Champs, see link below. From the General Regulations released 5/3/15 please note: Riders may participate in Dressage and one (1) other discipline. (This does not include Mounted Games, please see the ruling for this discipline). The ruling of one horse one rider, one rider one horse applies in all these disciplines. Riders may participate in one Jumping Discipline and either the Tetrathlon or Dressage Competitors may only have one mount for all of the Championship discipline competitions of Eventing, Dressage, Jumping and Tetrathlon. Mounted Games: The timetable does not allow athletes who compete in Mounted Games to compete in any other discipline except the Tetrathlon. The same horse must be used by the same rider if this is the case With regards to Horse Biosecurity please note the following taken from the “PCA Biosecurity Policy for 2015 Competitions” released 5/3/15: FOR THIS EVENT: 1. All horses must be accompanied by a completed Horse event participation declaration (HEPD) form. This must be handed to event managers at registration. 2. All horses are recommended to have a current vaccination status with respect to Equine Strangles disease and Tetanus. 3. All horses that are originating (where they normally reside/compete/train) from NSW, and QLD MUST have a current vaccination status for HEV (HENDRA VIRUS) VACCINATION. Horses from NSW, and QLD must have completed a 2 injection HEV Vaccine course within 42 days to 6 months prior to the start of the competition. Horses from NSW, and QLD will have their HEV vaccination status checked against the National HEV Vaccination Registry. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT ALL OTHER HORSES are vaccinated against HEVdisease before coming to the event. 4. Any sick horses may be isolated or removed from the contact with other horses. To view the full documents please click on links below or see the Nationals page on the PCAWA Website Rules for Nationals 2015 @ South Australia Horse Biosecurity Policy for 2015 Competitors SELECTION CRITERIA GENERAL CRITERIA The following general criteria apply to all disciplines when selecting combinations for the National team. Riders must be a current financial member of PCAWA. Member riders must have C certificate (by June 29th, 2015) Associate riders must have C* or K certificate (by June 29th, 2015) Riders must have demonstrated fitness, rider experience and the ability to develop and maintain a consistent training program to the satisfaction of the Head Coach. Horse must be sound and fit to compete. Each PPMG team will consist of a total of five riders and all other discipline teams will consist of a total of 6 riders. Riders must demonstrate an acceptable level of behaviour, citizenship and horsemastership. PCA and PCAWA Codes of Conduct must be signed before inclusion into the National team. Horse and Rider combinations must have completed three (3) rallies, two (2) of which must be held at own club within the last 12 months.(From May 2014 to May 2015) For Dressage, Showjumping and Eventing: In the 6 months prior to competition riders must be able to demonstrate skills at a minimum of 3 events at the appropriate level. COMPETITION CRITERIA Competition criteria are a guide to minimum performance required for consideration by selectors for inclusion on the National team. ACTIVE RIDING: 1. Must have attended three rallies on horse/rider combination 2. Horse/Rider combination to have competed in at least PPMG Semi Final competition. 3. Must attend Squad training days. 4. Must be available for selection on Selection Day, date TBA. COMPULSORY Riders from all disciplines (Except Active Riding) are required to keep a Performance Diary that must be completed and submitted to the PCAWA Office by July 3 rd. Good sportsmanship, team spirit and the ability to cheerfully participate in all activities planned by the host Country or the host family is of paramount importance when representing the Pony Club of Australia Inc... 1. All riders, coaches, managers and or chaperones representing Pony Club Australia (PCA) in Australia or overseas must comply with PCA Policies including the Member Protection Policy, the Anti Doping Policy and the attached Alcohol and Smoking Policies for International riders, coaches, managers and or chaperones. 2. Date of Issue: March 2009 Date of Review: May 2012 PONY CLUB OF AUSTRALIA INC. & PCAWA Inc NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL RIDERS, COACHES, MANAGERS AND OR CHAPERONES CODE OF CONDUCT FOR RIDERS Riders come under the supervision of the Coach, Manager and or Chaperone from the time they leave their home state until they return, during this time riders are expected to behave appropriately at all times and to obey instructions and or directions given by either the Coach, Manager or Chaperone. 1. 2. 3. 3. 4. 5. Ride by the rules. Never argue with an official. If you disagree, have your Team Manager approach the official during a break or after the competition. Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials and sledging other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent are not acceptable or permitted behaviours in any sport. The use of bad or abusive language may entail disqualification from any event. Work equally hard for yourself and/or your team. Your team’s performance will benefit, so will you: i treat all participants in your sport as you like to be treated. Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another competitor. iii cooperate with your coach, team-mates and opponents. iv respects the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion. A high standard of behaviour is essential and specifically includes: i compliance with PCA policies; the Member Protection Policy, Alcohol Policy, Anti Doping Policy and Smoke Free Policy; ii no use or possession of recreational or illicit drugs; iii no sexual liaisons, physical aggression or assault; iv no theft or vandalising of facilities or property; v no leaving a billet or group without permission; vi no cruel actions or abuse of horses; vii the official uniform is to be worn when representing PCA and at all times as directed by the Coach Manager or Chaperone; viii no rider is to be a passenger in a vehicle driven by a person under 18 years of age. Should a rider experience any difficulties while staying with a host family, it is important that they advise their Coach, Manager or Chaperone or immediately. Failure by a rider to comply with the above Code of Conduct may result in him/her being dismissed from the team and required to return to their home state immediately. Parents, Guardians or Riders aged 18 yrs and over, will be responsible for any additional costs incurred should a rider be required to return home prior to the scheduled departure date.
