Dear fellow students of ENGL 301:
Please consider my application for a mutual team partnership in ENGL 301, as
stated and required by our Professor, Dr. Erika Paterson. I am a student in the
Second-Degree Computer Science program at UBC, with my first degree being in
Interdisciplinary Studies in the Faculty of Arts at UBC.
I have numerous experiences working in teams, both currently and previously, that
has given me an aptitude for teamwork. Currently, I work as part of a stock team at
Pottery Barn with an eclectic group of people. This job requires both my own time
management, and an awareness of what my team members are doing—which
enables me to make the most of my time and the time of my teammates.
As a result of being an ecological volunteer in Costa Rica, I am aware that there are
some activities that are more suited to one team member as opposed to another,
such as one team member being very reluctant to sort through toucan poo. I am
receptive to getting my hands dirty in the name of a mutually-beneficial team
One of my biggest strengths I can offer a team is a wealth of experience in writing. I
have written essays for numerous courses in the English, creative writing, political
science, history, philosophy, anthropology, classical studies, religious studies, art
history, and psychology departments, among others.
If my background and qualifications meet your needs, please email me at any time at
[email protected], or text me at (778)386-3579.
