Some New Projects
City Surveillance – St. Lucia
Like most Caribbean islands, St.
Lucia’s economy relies heavily on
tourism. To protect their tourism
industry as well as to reduce crime
on the island, the Ministry of Home
Affairs and National Security
embarked on an initiative to
provide a more secure environment
by protecting its residents and its
tourism industry.
completed, and phase 3 in progress.
CSS’ proposal for cameras for
strategic areas was accepted. The
project is segmented into three
phases with phase 1 and 2
The surveillance system is based on
the state of the art IP CCTV where
90 IP PTZ’s and many Megapixel IP
fixed cameras have been deployed
in the first two phases. The entire
system can be monitored from the
command centre which CSS
established at the Royal St. Lucia
Police Headquarters
Cost –U-Less – Barbados
Cost u Less - Barbado
Barbados welcomed another
warehouse club-style store when
Cost-U-Less opened its operation
last month in Welches, Barbados.
Cost-U-Less is a division of
The North West Company which
operates 13 mid-sized warehouse
club-style stores in the United
States Territories, Hawaiian
Islands, South Pacific, Caribbean
and Sonora, California.
According to Occupational Safety
and Health Administration
(OSHA) and The National Safety
Council in the US, slip and falls
are the number one cause of
accidents in Hotels, Restaurants
and Public Buildings.
To mitigate such claims, Cost-ULess requires reliable cameras at all
of their locations. CSS’ solution
was to install 36 two Mega pixel
Illustra 610 Cameras, and 12
Discover 500 analog Cameras.
Furthermore, to mitigate loses
associated with theft, 4 UltraPost 6
Primary Pedestals, and 2 Ultrapost
6 Secondary Pedestals were
installed. This is all being
supported by a DSC alarm system,
Dell Monitors and 10 TB NVRs.
