1. Marketing with Microsoft
Microsoft offers partners a wealth of information, tools, resources and training to help you create
demand, increase sales, and satisfy your customers. All these resources are available through the
Microsoft partner portal at https://partner.microsoft.com/Ireland
2. Lead Generation Engines
2.1.
What is Solution Profiler?
The first step to increasing your opportunities is to make sure that your potential customers can find
you. Solution Profiler allows you to profile your solutions and services online and then get listed in
Microsoft’s IT Directory for free, which is previewed by over 1000 Irish customers every month.
2.2.
How do I profile my solutions on Solution Profiler?
a. Sign into the Membership Centre and go to Requirements and Assets and click on “Go to
Solution Profiler”.
Tip! You must have profile administrator rights within Solution Profiler to be able to enter or edit
solution profiles. If you do not, click on “Identify your profile administrator now . . . “to find out
who is your organisation’s administrator. That person may grant you access to enter/edit profiles.

b. Click on Add your Solution and follow the 6 steps.
c. Use our pre-populated templates to easily create the effective profile
d. Provide a detailed description of your solution using the available fields, all of which are
searchable by keyword. For best results, include customer references and use the
checkboxes to accurately describe your solution. The more details your profiler is, the
more likely the search engine will create a match.
e. Review and carefully edit your solution prior to publishing it. Remember, your solution will
be read by customers.
f. Repeat the process and publish as many solutions as you’d like. And keep your profilers
fresh by updating them regularly – at least once a year.
In order to share information about your solutions, we need your permission to do so. Check your
organisation profile to ensure that you have allowed us to publish this information. View this from
the Partner Membership Centre, clicking on Organisation Information and Manage Organisation
Profile. You must click “Yes, please list my organisation in Microsoft partner directories”.

3. Microsoft Funding for your Marketing
The Microsoft Club gives you an opportunity to earn cash rebates and marketing funds. If you are a
reseller or system builder selling to small and medium businesses and not a member of the
Microsoft Club, you may be missing out on rewards from us.
3.1.



How does it work?
Once your company is a member of the Club, you earn rebates for
purchasing selected Microsoft licences and products from any of our
authorised distributors.
Rebates consist of cash and/or marketing funds. Marketing funds (gold and cert partners only)
Your rebate is awarded on a fixed six-monthly period and will be paid in Euros direct to your
company bank account
3.2.
How do I join The Microsoft Club?
To be a member of the Microsoft Club you must be one of the following:




A reseller and or a system builder.
Purchasing Products from a Microsoft Authorised Distributor (s) located in Ireland.
Purchasing products for the purpose of distributing them directly to customers.
A registered member of the Microsoft Partner Program (registered level or higher)

2. Click on ‘Register Now’ and follow two quick and easy steps. Please don’t leave this money on
the table, it’s yours to collect.

What is Logo Builder?
Partner Logo Builder can help you
quickly create logos that display your
Microsoft Certified or Gold Certified
Partner logo paired with your
Microsoft
Competency.
Once
complete, the logo is stored in your
logo library to download when you're
ready to create marketing materials.
These customised logos promote your
skill set to customers.
4.2.
How do I use Logo Builder?
1. Log onto the Partner Portal. Click
on Sales and Marketing. Then click
on Partner Logo Building in the
right hand navigation and then on
the Partner Logo Builder icon.
2. Sign in to Logo Builder using your
Windows Live ID and password.

4. Click on the Logo Builder to design
your logo
5. Select up to four of your Microsoft
Competencies to include in the
logo
6. Name your logo
7. Go to the Logo Library to view
your new logo
8. Save and download your custom
logo in predefined file formats
9. Use your new logo for print or web
marketing

No partners can use Microsoft logos or product logos. However, product box shots are available for
partners to download and use, provided they comply with the usage requirements.

5. Understanding the Value of the Customer Satisfaction Index
5.1.
What is the Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) Index?
The CSAT Index is a research service that is offered to Gold and Certified Partners at no extra charge.
Customer research is carried out by TNS on your behalf, to measure your customer’s satisfaction.
Researching your customers, can help you retain your existing customers, strengthen your business
relationships, and reward you for your impact in the marketplace.
5.2.
How does the CSAT Index work?
The CSAT Index survey is run during the following four survey periods: January-March; April-June;
July-September; October-December.
Partners submit a list of customers who have agreed to participate in the CSAT survey. An email is
sent to these customers inviting them to participate in an online survey which takes about 10-15
minutes to complete. Customers can choose to respond anonymously. TNS compiles the results
using industry-proven methodology and the scorecard and analysis are reported on the CSAT portal,
giving partners valuable measurements of their customers’ satisfaction.
Partners have the flexibility to include optional questions in the survey as well as write their own
questions and add their company logo. In addition to receiving valuable feedback, Partners can earn
Microsoft Partner Program Points based on the number of customer responses received and their
NSAT scores.

5.3.
How do I create a CSAT survey?
1. Sign in to the Partner Portal using your Microsoft Live ID and password.

2. Review the demo.
3. Click Get Started
Note: In order to proceed, you need to be an Administrative Contact within your Microsoft Partner
Program membership profile.
5.4.
How do I edit previously uploaded customer data?
Note: Once the survey is launched, you can’t edit any information for your customers
1. Update your offline customer data spreadsheet
2. Click Survey Administration
3. Click View/Edit My Customers
To edit existing records:
 Click the pencil icon next to the customers data
 The page will refresh, and you can then edit all the fields in that record
 Click the save icon to save the edits
To add new contacts:
 Click the New button
 The page will refresh with new boxes for you to type in
 Click the save icon to save the edits
To delete existing contacts:
 Click the cross icon next to the customer record you want to delete
*** Please not that from May 2009 Certified and Gold Partners will be required, as part of their
programme membership to take part and complete 2 CSAT surveys a year.
