In 2016, over 20 students will be able to follow an i+academy course free of
charge with the i+scholarship. This document sets the terms and conditions
for application.
1. About i+solutions, the i+academy and the scholarship
i+solutions is an independent, international, not-for-profit organisation specialized in
pharmaceutical supply chain management (SCM) for low and middle income countries.
Around 2 billion people in the world do not have access to essential medicines. i+solutions’
mission is to change that unfortunate reality by strengthening healthcare systems around
the world. We do so by helping them building supply chains that are strong, reliable and,
ultimately, self-sufficient.
In many countries, the supply chain of medicines is dysfunctional due to a lack of trained
personnel. Human resources are, therefore, the corner stone for a well-functioning supply
chain. This is why i+solutions has been offering trainings and other capacity-building
activities for local healthcare staff since 2005.
We have hundreds of alumni from all over the world. They come from various backgrounds
such as senior health system managers, pharmacists, pharmaceutical supply chain staff and
technical assistance professionals from non-governmental and governmental organizations.
All our courses are developed and facilitated by an international team of highly qualified
SCM professionals. Such expertise allows us to develop and implement tailor-made
trainings, adapted to particular needs.
Since 2013, i+solutions has been offering online trainings in order to make it easier for
more people to acquire and extend their knowledge on pharmaceutical SCM. I+academy,
our e-learning platform, has since then more than 500 users from all over the world.
We want to make education on SCM even more accessible. Many of our potential student
have limited funds and must therefore rely on external financing to attend our courses. For
this reason, i+solutions is launching a scholarship programme. During 2016, over 20
students will have the chance to follow an i+academy course of their choice without having
to pay the tuition fee of 450€. With this, we hope to further support the personal and
professional development of a continuously growing network of health workers and, thus,
strengthen healthcare systems.
