UHAI Tanzania is a national and growing international NGO in the field of public health and public private partnership since 01.07.2011. We are supporting governments in Africa to meet their best health systems development to reduce and where possible end ill health issues. Currently we are currently looking for students [volunteers/interns] who are currently studying in colleges, Universities [higher learning institutions] who can be part of our newly developed programmes namely GESS, SEMA, BUSU, Vipaji Maalum, CEPA, Our MMUMY. Our leading programme is Maendeleo ya Uhai wa Mama na Mtoto Wetu [Our MMUMY]. Positions available: 400 Locations: rural areas country wide with seasonal visits First priority: Lake Zone, Western Zone, Cost Zone, Northern Zone, Central Zone, Southern Zone, Southern Highland Zone Role and responsibilities To listen to people’s health needs in villages To listen to people’s concerns on people health needs for women and children health development in rural areas Undertake one to one training on RCH, SRH, ANCs Meet youth-mostly girls and young women, breast feeding mother on ANCs Support district health officers on maternal and child health needs in rural villages Write event and technical reports Support action research where needs arise Recruit volunteers and give them supportive supervision Qualifications We are looking men and women who are highly attached to rural area [meaning that-they are coming from rural and they go to their home rural areas many times and they will go to their homes during long vacation in July 2015]. We are looking most first year bachelor degree students mass of them are needed] and second year students [ fewer but]. High interaction and readiness to be informed and change and transformed based on social development systems in place. Any student from any field is invited to apply. The student should be able to go back to his/her village most of the time [4 times a year under special arrangements].
