Communication is a key competency in healthcare. There are many conversations that are difficult, and may not get the results desired. The
skills in this program work for both high stress work and personal situations. Participants will practice the skills and behaviors of effective dialogue in challenging
situations, and apply to situations in their experience. Light refreshments are provided, lunch or dinner not included. Dining Commons is available to participants.

Description: The purpose of this activity is to promote the perspective of wellness in aging through discussion of priority health issues of
elderly and resources in our region, as well as barriers to implementing the best possible care for this population. Topics include oral history
taking, recognition of dementia and delirium, cognition and wellness among community dwelling older adults, assessment and treatment of pain
and distress behaviors in delirium and dementia, adult abuse/neglect/exploitation, managing side effects of antipsychotics, transitions of care,
older adult drivers, and intercultural panel of older adults .

Description:
The purpose of this activity is to provide relevant, evidence-based continuous professional development to promote improved drugrelated outcomes through patient-focused medication management. The session June 12 will focus is on patient-centered management of
pediatric asthma. Included in this session: signs and symptoms, common triggers, how to use the asthma guidelines, appropriate medications and
devices for age and developmental ability, how to education families and the impact. Light refreshments are included.

Description: We must understand substance abuse as a community health issue with human and fiscal costs. This program focuses on the
unique situation and needs of women with substance abuse and associated risk factors of domestic violence and recovery needs. Interprofessional dialogue will exchange research and practice on gender-responsive, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed principles and practices.
This event is relevant for prevention, mental health, legal, enforcement and corrections, addiction treatment and recovery professionals. The goal
is to create a better shared understanding, establish capacity to use effective evidence-based practices on what works to improve outcomes for
women with addiction in this region, and determine a future action plan.

Description: This four day program is designed for practice managers, clinical staff, and healthcare professional leaders seeking to improve their
knowledge of Quality Improvement tools and techniques used in their healthcare settings. This program uses an applied learning approach.
Participants will have the opportunity to work together in applying common Quality Improvement tools and techniques to engage in improvement
work appropriate to their healthcare setting. Participants will be involved with presentations, group or team exercises, case study discussions, and
complete outside assignments between sessions directly impacting their practice setting.

Description: This day long activity describes current basic wound management, and advanced treatment options for nurses and other clinical
providers who deal with clinically challenging wounds. Current best practices in wound management from early assessment and intervention to
new, advanced treatments will be discussed. Also included is information on what the PCP can do prior to sending to a wound clinic, at risk
patients, and innovative treatment for problem diabetic wounds.

Description: This educational offering is designed for the current or new preceptor who orients and trains new hires or graduates. Participants
will have a brief, pre-program assignment. Content covered in the program includes: competency assessment, role of the preceptor, adult
learning, teams and generations, culture shock, communicating for results, conflict resolution, and exercises to interact in small groups exchanging
resources and ideas from the program with the group. The participants will complete an action plan to apply to practice and further develop their
skills.
