Limit: 6 people per class Fundamental hand building techniques are introduced to achieve your goals in mastering pottery. Choose from the projects below. Each is taught in a two-hour class time. Clay, clay tools and firing included. Glazing is offered in a separate class. (pictures are examples of what you will be making) Press Mold Bowl Day: Saturday, March 14 or March 28 Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm Cost: $25 Learn press mold techniques. Choose a basic shape to repeat in the construction of a bowl. Slab Sun Garden Ornament Day: Saturday, April 18 or April 25 Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm Cost: $25 Use slabs of clay to form an ornament for your garden in the shape of a sun. Carve with patterns using clay tools. Pinch Pot Wind Chime Day: Saturday, May 8 or May 23 Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm Cost: $25 Use the basic pinch pot method to build a wind chime. Add texture depending on your taste for design. Intro to Pottery on the Wheel: Appropriate for middle school to adult ages. Limit: 2 people per class It’s not as easy as it looks! Challenge yourself on the potter’s wheel. You will learn the basics of centering clay on the wheel while creating bowls, cups and other pots. Clay, clay tools, potter’s wheel and firing included. Glazing is offered in a separate class. Day: Beginning in March, class meets on Wednesdays, starting with the first Wednesday of each month. Time: 6:00 – 8:00 pm Cost: $100 Glazing Your Pottery Open Studio: Now that you have created all this beautiful pottery it’s time to glaze! You may glaze your pottery all at once or by the piece. Clay glazes and tools included. Day/Time: Beginning in March, Wednesdays, 6:00 – 8:00 pm and certain Saturdays, 1:00 – 3:00 pm (call for dates) Cost: Price per piece – $5 small piece, $10 large piece
